Message: JB, I did not have any problems with the information site, my only problem is that I have probably already forgotten my user id, as well as my password by now because of my awful memory. As far as dues go, I'll be submitting them to you in June. Your doing a great service here for all the Coug's who do want to be included in reunions. Please don't let the comments of a few people overwhelm and get the best of you. As for the website itself, I've been a member for 6 years or so, and it induces at least one smile a week from me with the memories and the madcap adventures of my fellow alumni. Love ya John, and keep up the good work!

We have 203 Cougars on it now. It is neat to see where people live at a glance. Plus you can put a recent pic and a note to everyone. We need more Europe people on their.

Message: Hey John, I put my info in Cougartown and had no problems. And I'm not too sharp with computers. It seemed very simple to me. I think its a great idea. It should be very helpful to the Reunion Committee. Anyone willing to take on the job of setting up a Reunion, can use all the help they can get.

Message: John, Just read your frustrated feedback regarding the Cougartown Info System. Did I just get lucky or what? It took me all of 10-15 minutes to complete this process. Sounds like people are trying to read W A Y more into this than is necessary. And for those who have had a glitch with the system.....simply e-mail JB! He will walk you through it! And as far as our membership dues go - John you already know how I feel about that. I personally feel the dues should be raised to $12 a year. That equates to only $1 a month from each of us. Think about it. For all the laughter, joy, and tears that this site has brought to all of us, is $1 a month too much to ask? John ~ you are workin' for slave wages! If everyone would simply just remember to send in their Cougartown Dues every year on their birthday.....how could you forget that? I am amazed for all who use and derive the pleasure that we all do from this site, that everyones dues are not paid current. John if anyone deserves a moment to vent - you do. And that is my 2 cents worth!

Message: Hi John! I think the info system is like anything else in this world - you can't please everyone no matter what you do. There are those who will find something to complain about or find something wrong no matter what. And then there will always be those who think EVERYthing is a conspiracy no matter how innocent the information request is! The system is easy to use and it's a GREAT idea. If anyone has trouble, just email John and he'll figure it out and fix it. Chances are the problem is on the user's end! And anyone who doesn't appreciate the time and effort that you put into this ON YOUR OWN TIME and without any intention of profit or recognition can just go pound sand in my opinion! John I hope your calendar is marked for our '76 reunion so we can all thank you in person! Where does the hug line start?

Message: JB, I don't know what the problem is! I filled out the application and it was easy. I didn't have any problems and was done in less than 5 minutes ... and I'm not a real computer "geek" either! I WANT to know when the reunions are and I want the committees to find me. What better way than in the secured part of this website? BTW, the new Nostalgia is another great one! Have I mentioned before how much I've enjoyed Jerry Miles' efforts with this? I love it, Maaaan!! You and Jerry are awesome! You give so much and ask so little from us. $40/month? Those who haven't paid should be ashamed!!

Message: I just checked our files in the Cougartown Info System (CIS) and had no trouble what-so-ever! John, the data base is easy to use and I am no computer genius...it is simply a matter of following the prompts ALL the way through. Thanks for doing this and a little venting is always good for the soul.
We're having some beautiful weather up here, sunny, warm and clear. When you step outside you can smell the pine needles baking in the sun...reminds me of spring break camp in 6th grade.

Message: I love Cougartown and the feedback page, however, I have noticed very few from the class of '82 write. I know, I am guilty as well, this is the first time I have contributed a word, even though I check in and read almost everyday. As for the new info site, I didn't find it difficult to navigate at all. It was easier than most applications we come across on a daily basis, and I like being able to make changes when necessary. We have moved around a lot and I have lost contact with most of my old HHS friends, I think it will be so nice to be able find everyone and get together at reunion time. Thanks, John!

Message: Keith raises an excellent question and I have an excellent answer. You can indeed pay for your reunion tickets through Paypal. I have a registered account there. If you
are going to do this please be sure to email me directly to let me know and be sure you indicate how many tickets, what price, memory book, and total amount. I need your name, married and maiden, spouse/guest name, and the other details from the reservation form. Those details go into the memory book. Also, did I mention? We have decided to extend the early-bird pricing for a few weeks, so the price is still $75 per person- that includes a fabulous three course dinner (featuring both chicken AND beef) DVD, CD, music, decorations, and all the million other details, so please, do not delay, send in your reservation today!!! We are gonna have a GREAT party, it's Saturday August 19 at the Ayres Hotel in Hawthorne. It's a beautiful hotel and they are giving us special room rates, too- contact the Ayres or myself for more info.
Can't WAIT to see you guys again!!!

Message: Hi Cougartown. John I had no trouble filling out the forms for the data base. The hard part is to read what it says NOT what you think it says. I understand that you want to make things better for all of us so we can find each other. I made one small mistake and it would not let me back in to change it, but an e-mail to you took care of that. Thanks John, and as an 8 year member who does not talk on this site too much the check will be in the mail this week for year 9. Thanks Buddy you make my day shine when I read this everyday..

Message: Hey Cougs, John has gone thru a lot of work for the people on this site. If the Alumni don't want to allow their reunion commitees to be able to contact you, other than their E-Mail, then don't add anything. There never has been nor will there ever be a mandatory payment of dues, or is it ever mandatory to show up to any Cougartown event, we do because we want to. I enjoy this site and want to keep enjoying the Feedback and the banter that occurs.

Message: Username and a password, boy that?s easy. I did that at my ?Lawndale High? site to log in and change my profile or the photo I use with each posting. That way no one but you can access your account, not that it cost you anything it?s still your account. I went to Lawndale High and I understood it the first time and I didn?t even graduate the first time around. John might ask for dues once a year, but that?s got nothing to do with the new ?Alumni Information? system because he isn?t asking for cash. All he?s asking for is your participation in making this new system as easy as it is. Thank you John for ?Cougartown? and all the time you put into it. Man forty bucks a month. You really love what you?re doing for your old ?Alma Mata?. and that?s my two cents.

Message: This is mostly for the people who've balked at the Cougartown Info System. I just want to know why this is such a terrible system?
I've been getting email from Cougars who think you'll have to add a User Name and Password to log into the website. The answer is NO. Nothing will change. The only reason you need a User Name and Password is to get into YOUR part of the Database and to protect YOU. Your User Name and Password protects YOU from anyone who would want to change or add to your information. The info is for YOUR Reunion Committee Members and Cougartown ONLY. This is NOT a COMMIE plot!!
Before, you would add info and it would be emailed to me. I would have to copy and paste your info. Now you add and change your own information in Real Time, by yourself, at anytime. If you move, you go to the login page, enter your User Name and Password, and change your info, whether it be your Email address, home address, or phone number. This is FREE!!
I just received these two emails in the last 20 minutes, stating,
It seems I need to fill in all the spaces in order to change my password and email address. I'll leave it like it is.
You have to fill in all the spaces the FIRST TIME, obviously
OR
I went in to get the password, but was a little turned off by the amount of "mandatory" info required to proceed. I wasn't too keen on putting phone numbers in their. As I recall, I was also unsure about the membership question. Yes equals more cash (I could be wrong on this matter)?
First off, I do appreciate the contributions our members send, but Membership is Optional. No one has to send anything to me for this special gift. I thoroughly enjoy doing this. Why would you say "MORE CASH"?
More Cash?? I get an average of 40 dollars a month for doing this. That comment is a slap in the face.
The bottom line is, if you don't want to contribute to the Info System or Cougartown Membership, don't do it. It is NOT mandatory and you'll save Cougartown a little bandwidth and you won't be bothered by your Reunion Committee.
Next question is for all who WANT to be added to the Cougartown Info System. I want to hear from you on this Feedback page. I know I wrote this script and it's very simple for me but maybe not too simple for you.
What do I need to change to make it simpler? Please be candid, as I know some of you are having problems, so let's rectify the problems here.
Please Respond.
Thanks Cougs for letting me vent. This has been the toughest Cougartown week ever, but nothing is gained if not fought for.
