Message: J.B. The answer is, yes!
Spinnaker Cove is a community located in south Long Beach, on the water and within rock throwing distance of 2ND street, Naples, Belmont shore and Marina Pacifica. Great place to live. It's one of the best kept secrets in long beach. Not many people know of it's existance. The wife and I found it by accident one day.
Hey George, Must be a great secret. Thought I knew them all around here. Thanks....

Message: Gosh Bax, Did not know their were any Fans left out there for Officer Moore. Can't speak for him except for myself. Dont think I harassed any cruisers, except when I was Harassed. Dont think I threatened anyone, I would just Do It. Most of the officers wrote good tickets. Well enough of that!!
Hey Ron Warner, remember him from the "Ole" days when I still worked there. HAVE A GOOD ONE John AND STAY Cool, Al Murphy
Hey Murph' thanks for your 2 cents. I for one, was on FM's harassing list.

Message: I was wondering, I watching HotRod show this weekend and I saw a segment on the Chevelle with the 454. I think it was 1970 they made it. Is there any Cougar out there with one of these or had one. I can't believe a mint condition one brings in close to $200,000. I remember my dad when the axle broke on our Corvair going down the driveway my dad getting mad then going to Cormier Chevrolet and buying a red Chevelle SS 396 of the showroom floor. Man! I wish I had that car. I think that was 1969.
My dad had a 70 Chevelle SS454. I sold it 2 years ago. Great car... You can certainly pay the big bucks for a restored Chevelle, but the car you're talking about has at least 100,000 dollars worth of body-off restoration done to it.

Message: Welcome Ron Warner! Steve Fraser was right...what a pleasure to hear from such a great guy. Now we have stories from another guy who's lived 'em. You couldn't be around Ron Warner without laughing. He's a true, stand up comedian and a fun guy to have around. Watch him JB, he's a trickster, too. Also Ron, I will no longer stand for any of your disrespectful Pollock jokes. If you start, I'll have the CT Sgt.at Arms, Keith Jones work you over! :)
I'll keep a look out for his tricks, Jim

Message: J.b. In fact, the conversation mentioned did take place, at the "Long Beach Yacht Club". Maybe not word for word as posted, but very close. I have used this Verbal Judo technique on many occasions and it's content changes everytime I take the challenge, and surroundings. Thanks
Hey George, "Verbal Judo"... Is that like taking someone elses story and changing it a little to fit your situation?
Also, where is Spinnaker Cove? Never heard of that place.

Message: I was glad to see Rondeau "Ron" Warner log into C-Town. I worked with Ron from '69 to '89 and it was a great time. Inglewood HS or not he was a true Hawthorne dude. Ron lived in Hollyglen and was really active in kid's sports. If you ever need tips on salmon fishing the Northern California rivers, Ron is your man. I'm sure the Greasby's and Pasternak have memories of Ron also!

Message: What a great page , I worked for the Hawthorne Fire Dept. from 1963 through 1989. I went to Inglewood High Class of 56. We cruised Hawthorne in my yellow 34 Ford roadster . I now live in Northern Ca. and for 12 years was the Mayor of the City of Tehama, I am now the Chairman of the Tehama County Board of Supervisors. I think I saw my roadster in one of the pictures of A&W. I sold it to a guy named Tex in 56 when I went into the Coast Guard, I wish I had it now.
There is a wonderful lady here, "Sister Pat" who works at our local Catholic Hospital. She graduated from Hawthorne High, not sure what year, but we talk often about "cruising " Inglewood and Hawthorne. Keep up the great work.
Rondeau Warner.
Hey Rondeau, Glad to have you aboard. Sentinels, as well as Cougs are always welcomed here. Thanks for sharing....

Message: J.B; if you don't want to post this I understand, it really does not go with your theme, or maybe it does, it used to occur in Hawthorne all the time.
Recently, I was at a function, I was asked a question by a civilian, who knew I was a retired police officer. The topic of his question was "Police Harassment in the Community".
My response was as follows:
It is not easy, as you may or may not know, in California, we average one cop for approximatly every 2,000 people. About 60% of those cops are on patrol, ......
For the rest, click here.
Hey George, this thing is all over the Internet. I guess you didn't say this after all. That's why I HATE "copy and pastes".

Message: Hey! Jim "Uncle Buck" Sloey; Well, to answer your question, Yes, I do know the difference between a bull & a cow. Over the past four decades, I, as have many of you "guys" (and you know who you are), have been out with a lot of heifer's. However, I have never been on a date with a bull. Besides, what's wrong with a nice cow?

Message: Had a Cougar sighting of sorts this past week. A nice lady I have worked with for the past 3 years and I were talking about how different things were growing up. She said things were very different where her husband grew up. When I asked where she said Hawthorne! Of course I was tickled and told her "me too!" He's Dennis Butler from Class of '67...she says he checks in here now and again. It's a small world and if you take a look at the Frapper Map....it's getting smaller everyday...Cheers!
Hey Laura, Nice sighting and yes, it IS a small Cougar world.

Message: I haven't posted in quite some time so I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year. Where have I been? Well the wife and I finally decided to sell off a little of the 2.3 million shares of Microsoft stock that good bud Bill had me buy some years ago, cant believe that I almost didn't take his advise, but we're both glad we did. Spent the newyears with good bud Tiger and his bride, played a little golf, beat him on Thursday at Isleworth, his home course. My great friend Paul stopped by over Christmas with a few close buds and jammed for me and the family, hell it beats the Staples Center, and so cozy to boot. I was one of only a very select few who were given sideline passes to the RoseBowl, probably because of the 12 million dollar donation to the business school Carolyn and I recently made, boy what a game. Had drinks with Vince and a few other close friends after the game, great night, even though S.C got beat.
Well its back to the beach for a while, Wade and I are going to begin plans for the 3rd annual Cougartown Classic, I asked Tiger and Phil to join in but both have PGA obligations that day...damn, that would have been fun.
Well time to pop another bottle of Screaming Eagle and chill on the new "boat".
Peace and prosperity.
Thanks Bud, you nam....no, I'm not going there. Thanks for the shout....

Message: John, I didn't want to say anything cause you always make fun of me who I know. But, me and Mike had a Neon company copany for awhile. He also was in charge of the Boxing program at Forum. I didn't know who he was for along time. We finally met with Robbie Meistrel who owns Body Glove about doing their neon signs. I used to see his sister. So, when we got there, Robbie immediately knew Mike and started talking about him and how good he was. I stood back and looked at Mike and said you played football? He was so small. Then Robbie told me how he was the Heisman Trophy winner and I couldnt believe it. I later saw Kansas City Chiefs highlight films and couldn't believe how good Mike was. When I introduced Mike to Chuck Norris at the exact same time they each said "I thought you were bigger". That was funny. I was just wondering what he was doing since it has been about 10+ years since I seen him. Thanks for the responses and sorry John, I will try not to name drop so much.

Message: JB AND FELLOW COUGS. THIS MAY BE A CASE OF STEROIDS GONE ARRAY. I DO NOT KNOW MIKE GARRETT, BUT I KNOW THE POPE, AS I AM MARRIED TO HER!!!. FAVORITE GAME, 1959 I THINK, HHS VS GLENDALE HOOVER, WHEN RON PETCH KICKED THE FIELD GOAL THAT HIT THE UPRIGHT AND WENT IN. WE WIN 9 TO 7. FIRST KISS, BARBARA ROZUTTI IN HER GARAGE. IN ATTENDANCE WERE GARY PAULSON AND SANDY SOKOL. GREATEST BROTHER ATHLETES IN HHS HISTORY, THE DAQULAS SEEM LIKE A GOOD CHOICE TO ME.
I think you're referring to Ron Petch in the Samohi game and believe Sandy Sokol was in my wedding. Didn't she marry Ronny Edie?

Message: Hey Cougars! I hope everyone's 2006 is getting off to a good start! Like Kellee, I am part of the class of '86 Twenty Year Reunion Committee (How in the heck did 20 yrs go by so fast?!). I will be taking on the job of collecting names and addresses of our class. If you are from the class of '86, or know someone who is, please send me an email! John, we will be sure to get all the details to you, for you to post on the Reunion Page as soon as we have some. Thanks!
Hey Class of 86ers, please do exactly as Delia prescribed. Reunions are for everyone, including the ones who plan NOT to show up. Do NOT miss your reunions folks, as these are precious times that you'll NEVER get back. Thanks Delia....

Message: Keith, my last, very last play in college football was against Mike Garrett. This was in the USC/UCLA game in '65. I hit him square in the chest and about one and a half feet from the sideline on the 35 yardline. The next thing I saw was Mike in the end zone and I was looking up at John Mckay. Coach Mckay reminded me again I should have come to USC.
I had dinner with Bill Daquila on his birthday and I'm happy to report his two brothers and Sandy are all doing well. Jerry Daquila was a member of that great '59 HHS football team along with Russ J.

Message: Keith; I had a working relationship with Mike Garrett, when I worked patrol out of Lennox Sheriff's Station. We were called on numerous occasions to his residence in Ladera Heights, when he had parties. I remember seeing Kenny Norton Sr., O. J. Simpson, Rev. Jesse Jackson and other notable blacks at these gatherings. He was always very cooperative and respected our purpose for being there. I only remember having to make a return to, on one party that he had. After we explained to him what our (LASD) options were if we had to come back again, we had no more complaints that night.
NOTE: The parties I went to looked like a lot of fun, I would have loved to have been a guest at one of those parties, just to have been able to have conversation with some of the attendies.
Thanks George.... Keith, From your last Feedback I have this feeling you know Mike Garrett too.
