Message: Hey John! I just had to let you know that my daughter, a junior at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, quoted you and Cougartown in a Linquistics paper she wrote during the fall semester! You were even #1 on her works cited page, being a Baker you must be used to being first. She did a Google search for surf slang and it took her straight to Cougartown! Just thought it would give you a laugh to know CT was a cited source for a very serious paper on the English language! Happy New Year - Be safe tonight!
Hi Dawn, I am honored and humbled. Thank you for sharing, and Mrs Mark, if you're looking down on me.....SEEEE!!! Thanks Dawn and you and yours have a Happy New Year too.

Message: A COUGARTOWN sighting of sorts, I was finishing my 120th book read this year, THE LUST LIZARD OF MELANCHOLY COVE, by Christopher Moore. On page 245, a "PINK'S foot long with sauerkraut" was mentioned. During the last two years I've read 80511 pages and this is my first, in print, PINK'S sighting. I would think that anyone who lived closer should carry this information into "PINK'S" and be rewarded. Secondly, my grandson is a Marine Lnc. Corp stationed now in Cuba, thankfully its not Iraq. Doing for us so we can do what we do.
Hey Neil, I will try that the next time I'm up Pinks way. Happy New Year to you AND your grandson. God Bless our Service Men and Women wherever they may be.

Message: Happy New Year to Cougars everywhere! Changes to Feedback Page look good - Thanks for your efforts. First kiss was before moving to Hawthorne - met a guy in uniform (Civil Air Patrol) when we were both in eighth grade at different schools. We were both helping our parents decorate for a dance at our church. We went to the movies a week or so later and kissed in the dark. I was always a sucker for a guy in uniform ...
Me too, I LOVED the Good Humor Man. Thanks Sharon, and Happy New Year to you and your family.

Leif Enocksons 10th B-day party ,on his folks kitchen floor playing spin the bottle. I was as nervous as a gerbil at a gay pride parade, as her Dad Al was as big as a house and a cop to boot. It took forever and I never got over it ...Happy New Year to all Cougs everywhere and congrats to El Rojo and his Bruins..
YES, Congrats to the Bruins. They held up the Pac10 winning spirit along with Cal and AZ St. Butta.... I hate to bring this up Robin, but what happened to the "Green Weiners"? Just kidding, very good showing by the Ducks. Happy New Year to you too.

Message: John I love the new look to feedback. A great way to start a new year. About first kiss, 7th grade at Haw Inter, was it for me. It seems the kids that went to Eucalytpus were a little slow til they hit jr, high. Haw Inter was a hot bed of 1st, 2nd and 3rd kisses, Didn't everyone go to the plaza and make out a little, all the while trying not to let anyone see you were kissing. LOL Happy NEW YEAR to everyone. Carole
Thanks Carole, Yep, girls needed somewhere dark but boys would makeout at a Bull Fight. Happy New Year to you too.

Message: Happy New Year to the whole Cougar Community. My first kiss was with Patsy Haskell, my first girlfriend and next-door neighbor. Pat and I walked to school together many days to good ol' Eucalyptus School. Like many in Hawthorne we grew up in a fairly stable environment, attending school with our neighbors and friends from Kindergarten to Hawthorne Intermediate, on to HHS and then El Camino College. I haven't seen Pat in a long time but we still send Christmas cards and family photos. Best wishes to all my former Hawthorne neighbors--The Haskells, Gants, Hawkenberrys, Sartories, Records, Ennis', Berrys, Swinfords, Blazenskis and many others from the Burl Avenue/Inglewood Avenue block across the street from HHS.
And a Happy New Year to you too, Tom...

Happy New Year and Birthday, Keith...

I wish I could remember my first kiss and with whom, but I don't. I just know it was between the age of 13-16 years old. I do remember though that when my first ever boyfriend Phil put his arm around me in the sixth grade, I called him an animal. Poor guy.

Message: So with the change in font, does that mean the feedback page just shrank from 770 pages to 385 pages, and does that mean we can celebrate twice as many times for pages that end in double ought; Wait just a minute, my mid-60's brain tells me it might take twice as long 'til the next Fosters or Pink's (hot dogs, not the musical group) gathering of the tribe. How about a happening every fifty pages? Can you say "deligate" (tag your it), John? Happy New Year everyone (that is politically correct, yes?).
Hey Glenny, Thanks for chiming in. No, actually with the Email security, it takes about twice the bandwidth so I say we celebrate about every 247 pages. Have a fun New Year and tell Dave I still haven't received the NEW Wine List.

Message: Wow John, You have outdone yourself, this is really beautiful, thank you. As for my first kiss, it was from my first boyfriend Bob Milazzo, we dated for a short time in the summer of 59', he was and is a sweet guy. I did have one boyfriend before Bob if you want to call him that, in the 6th. grade I went steady with Dennis Wilson, he broke up with me soon after I told him that I wouldn't kiss him.
My thoughts are with the Freeman family who lost their Dad on Christmas day. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year, be careful out there. Cindy
Hey Cindy, That was Dennis Thanks for the nice thoughts. My condolences too, go out to Jan and the rest of the Freeman family on the loss of their father.
