Message: Hello fellow Cougars. It has been a long time since I have posted or read any feedback, sorry, I still have an aversion to computers. I prefer face to face communication. John Sloey has let many of you know that my brother, Ed Lutz, passed away from us September 29, 2005. I would like to extend to any of his friends an opportunity to attend a memorial service for him at our house in Long Beach. My partner and I have access to a recreational hall here. If any one has other ideas or inspirations please feel free to call me, Paula Lutz at 562-981-8440. Currently he is at Pacific Crest Cemetary in Redondo Beach at 2701 182nd st. My sister, Ginny Shoren, and my other brother Danny Lutz have decided to have him cremated. I would also appreciate any financial help possible for those of you who loved and cared about him. We are having difficulty covering the cost as none of us, including Edward, seem to be blessed at the moment with much cash. I really want to be respectful of my brothers memory and not be forced to release him to the care of the county. My brother died due to complications of diabetes, he was 56 years old. We have not decided anything firm on the memorial service yet as I truly wish to hear from his friends and what they want and where they are able to meet at. I know that many of you are out there somewhere and word of mouth travels faster that a speeding bullet. I hope this post reaches all it can reach. God Bless, Paula, or as my brother affectionately called me Babette!
Hi Paula, so sorry for your loss and I'm sure Ed's friends will be more than happy to help out. Thanks for the info and again, condolences from Cougartown and all of Ed's friends. I wish you'd have left your email address so Ed's friends could contact you.

Message: Does anyone remember the name of the bus driver that would take the varsity football team to away games in the early sixties (like 1960-1964)? I remember we all called him "Busey". All the team members, managers and trainers would get on the bus, then Busey would get on before the coaching staff and tell a "dirty" joke to loosen everyone up before going to the game.

Coincidentally as I reflected back on my contact with Ed I listened to the appropriate recording to which to you alluded, "I hope you had the time of your life." You can hear it by clicking on 'Green Day' on CT. (Turn it up!)
I remember Ed to always have been smiling and my bet is that he still is and I recall smiling myself when seeing him, as his grin was contagious.
Thanks again, Jim

Message: Boy JB, we've been stuck on page 750 for some time now. Unfortunately there isn't much I can add either. I missed the picnic and cruise night so I have nothing to add or comment on, and I don't usually have the pleasure of a Cougar siting, other than my sisters Denean and Sandra and my golfing buddy Jorge. So, I'll throw out a topic to have everyone stroll down memory lane. What was your first HHS dance? who did you go with? And was it everything you thought it would be. I'll go first. Christmas dance, freshman year, a guy named Robert who was a sophmore, and absoutley!
Mine was the Senior Prom with Joyce Savisky. I wasn't much of a dancer.

Message: I wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know that we filled a 24' truck with donations on Saturday, Sept. 10th and drove it out to Texas to people in shelters. We met some wonderful APPRECIATIVE people. I plan on typing everything up and adding pictures to share with those who are interested. Thank you to our Cougars who mailed or dropped by your donations. We were able to drive them directly to people in need.
It sounds like the Picnic was a big success. I hoped to attend but actually got a surprise call that kept me away. After 4 years of trying to start a family and riding a bumpy road to adoption, we were called about a baby girl born September 16th. While you all were having fun at the picnic, I was meeting my precious daughter for the first time. My husband and I are SO in love with our little Willow Rose. :)
Hi Delia, Looks like you're well on your way to a very nice family. Your new baby is beautiful, but I still like your first choice for a name, "Laurel Ann", the best. While I have you here, your "Spam Cop" won't allow the Found Class of 86ers to be mailed to you. Can you fix that? Thanks and good luck with Willow.

Our prayers go out to his sisters and brother in their time of loss. Eddy had many friends also and will be sorely missed by all.
We shared a lifetime of laughs and fun together at the Hawthorne airport! We'll miss you Big Ed and as the song goes, I hope you have the time of your life! May God always hold you in the palm of his hand!
Always sad to lose a Cougar. Thanks Jim

Anyway, John, last night my sister Susie (class of '66) and I met with our old friend, Pat(Kavanaugh - class of '64) here in Portland.
Her youngest son just moved here with his family from Queens, NY, where Pat has lived for many years. So, she and her husband were out for a visit.
We had a fabulous time and I wanted to thank you for making this possible. I found Pat through the Cougartown website. Pat and I have been friends since kindergarten and it means the world to me that we have reconnected.
Thanks, again, for all you've done.
Hi Lee Ann, brother Ernie was at both events so we'll excuse you this time. So glad all are reconnecting through Ctown. It's why the website is here and for many, the only way they find old HHS chums. Glad you and Pat had a nice visit.
