And he saw through the window a sight
A big man in a chair
And little tiny men everywhere......> Beach Boys

Message: Here's a New Years Eve memory from Hawthorne High. Does anyone remember going to The Rose parade? We went a couple of times, but the time that stands out in my mind is the time I went with the wrestlers. Of course the fun was to go up the night before and "camp" out in the street. Rick Barrows gave me his new contacts to hold and I lost them. We took thermoses of hot tea with Southern Comfort in them in case of "emergencies'. The antics of the cars driving up and down the parade route and the people walking by were by far more entertaining than the parade the next day. I would never let my kids do this today. Thanks John for doing this site, and thanks everyone for jogging my memory. Happy New Years to all.
Hi Kathy, Yes, we went one year and had a blast. I remember uncorking the old 58 Chevy and driving up and down the parade route. Lots of hot rods and campers on the sidewalk. We too had more fun the night before. I think I probably slept through the parade. Thanks for that one.....

Message: Hi all! Just saw my sister's post about her visit with me. Yes I did win the lottery with my new husband, Patrick and he's 7 years younger than me! This has been a tough year for the Klingenhagen family. Our Mom passed away in January. I had my 13th hip revision, bought a home (cabin) in Crestline, CA, my oldest son is in the Air Force and has been to the war zone area, and my youngest son graduated from high school. What a year, (plus the marriage!) All class of 75'ers this will be a reunion year and I know that for myself and Heather(Reoch) we would love for someone to take over the job. Dale, that doesn't mean you take over because then we'd just end up helping you! Cause we're in the I love Dale Hahlbeck club! I also did not feel like Christmas this year, since I did not send cards this is a big HI and I'm doing fine to all my friends. May the coming year be good to one and all! Sheree

Merry Christmas to you too Janet and may Macys receive a stocking full of coal at their year end meeting.
With that, I'm off to my own festivities. See you all back here on Sunday where we can report on all our Christmas blessings.
BE SAFE and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL COUGARTOWNERS!!!!

Second, I want to join in on the Happy Holiday Wishes; Merry CHRISTmas to you all, Cougars and non-Cougars alike and to our fighting men and women who are on distant lands far from home. And third, and most important, J.B.1, I wish the best of everything to you. Without you and the Ctown site, my life would be very different now without the good friends I've found or who have found me on here !! You've influenced my life more than anyone in the past 6 or 7 years since I found Cougartown. I love ya Maaaaaaan! You all take care driving and think of me when you have an egg nog!!hehehehe
Ahh thank you Karen for the nice thoughts. I still have to say it's all you people who are making this whole thing work, and I'm not just talking about the Feedback page. Lots and LOTS of things going on here from Tributes, Reunions, Alumni Lists, Teachers page, and more. Thanks for being a part of Cougartown. You too have a Merry CHRISTmas and maybe we'll see you at an upcoming function. Dave sent me a copy of your book and I will definitely read it after all the holiday stuff is over.

But it is that time of year, so to all my old friends and the new ones I have come to know here on C-town (through your messages and images), a joyous season regardless of your beliefs or faith. And to JB, repeating so many other well wishers, the best to you and your family. I hope you realize what an incredible thing you've created here and how it has absolutely changed peoples lives. Thank you. And, finally, Paco has new pix posted as of the 22nd. Included is a picture of us Crotty kids from probably around 1960 or '61. You can even have Elmo say your childs name when he speaks. They deliver no shippng charges and it got there in 3 days. Bought all my kids presents online too. Bought my youngest daughter a satellite radio paid for it online and her momo went and picked it up at Circuit City. I love shopping now. I bought more this year than ever before simply because it wasn't a pain in the you know what. I even buy everything I need online. It would have been pretty neat to have the internet when I was younger, but it was nice going with my mom and dad.

Message: I have recently seen yet another article where a school board has banned certain religious CHRISTmas carols out of the school programs. I am glad that my children can sing songs like "Silent Night" and "Away in a Manger" with pride (they go to a private school) and not have to worry about offending those of a different faith. It's a sad state of affairs to be reduced to singing just "Jingle Bells" at a holiday performance. I enjoy hearing all holiday music whether it be at a school performance or at church or even on the radio. I thought we lived in a FREE country. It seems that religious freedom is costing more than it should and it's depressing. That sure doesn't send a message of Peace around the world.
On that note; I wish everyone here at CT a BLESSED holiday and PEACE ON EARTH. I for one will be proudly singing "JOY TO THE WORLD"...
Thanks Dee, lots of us think EXACTLY the way you do. Merry Christmas to you and your family and lets keep the CHRIST in Christmas.

Please accept our warmest wishes for a blessed 2005. We have SOOOOOOOOOOO much to be thankful for, don't we? Hey John, Sandy and I are thankful for YOU, great job on this site. It warms our hearts to read about the MANY antics of everyone who posts here.
Hey a quick update on the Alan Jackson Jeans-They sold for $200.00 on EBAY. A guy bought them for his wife for Christmas.
So last week I was at a concert fundariser for a widow who lost her husband (4 kids) Michael McDonald, Wynonna and others, and they were auctioning Jeans and a CD signed by Alan Jackson....Guess who won them-YEP, ME. After streaking up there jumping and dancing and making a COUGAR out of myself....I thought -Eh...these are cool but hey I have seen these before, so I gave them to Meg the widow and said I think the reason I won these is because the Lord knows I would have given them to YOU. She was thrilled. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas.
Hey Dave, Great thing to do this time of year. Thanks for being a part of all this Cougardom and Merry Christmas to you and Sandy...

Message: Hello from Freeeeezing Colorado. Winter is finally here! We are supposed to have a white Christmas with the snow coming over the next couple of days. Sure miss the 60 degree weather we used to have on Christmas. I remember the old fire station, taking pic's with Santa as a kid at May Company, and all the decorations along Hawthorne blvd. Good memories like this make it hard not to want to be in Hawthorne for Christmas. Does anyone remember going to Inglewood to see Regent circle, where all the yards on the block were decorated? There seems to be a bunch of us here on Colorado, It would be nice to try some type of get together out here! Merry Christmas to all. Remember the reason for the season.
Hey Jim, Yes I remember the Regent Circle decorations. I always thought that was the prettiest street in America at Christmastime. Thanks for the memory and you and yours have not a freezing but a real cool Christmas.
