Message: Hi Greg. Did you see the post I made about the time you showed me that you were going to throw a knuckle ball and then wizzed a mid-90s fastball under my chin? I then made you pay with the weakest, luckiest pop fly single in history (landing just over the first baseman's head). I think it was the only time I got a bat on one of your pitches. Heck, with Tracy Turner I actually got the meat of the bat on a groundout once! I also hit an HR against James Solis who could bring it -- but nothing like Greg Staffon who I think threw harder than Mike Scott (and I saw them both). Mike Scott's newphew (Jared, I think) was at Baylor and later was drafted -- don't know his status. Jared is the son of Jerry Scott -- a Cougar and my freshman basketball coach! Omar Azze's newphew is, I believe, currently pitching for University of Hawaii. OK, that's your Hawthorne baseball update for 8/26.

Message: Last Saturday's "Class of '74 Reunion" was a great one if you missed it, you missed a good time.
Speaking of photos ? there were disposable cameras on each table purchased by the reunion committee members. Unfortunately, I heard that quite a few people walked off the boat with them at the end of the evening so the committee will not have those pictures to add to the memory album. If you ended up with one these please contact Jim, Carol or Cheryl right away so they can arrange to get the pictures back.
And on a side note
If you picked up the photos that fell out of my ElMolino I?d like to get them back!
If you picked up the RayBan sunglasses that Karen Snyder left behind she?d like to get them back, too!

Keith was one of the best talents I have ever scene behind the plate.
He had probably the strongest arm I 've seen behind the plate even when I was playing pro ball.
I tried to get him a try out but things didn't workout. I think Hawthorne High was the coolest school around and I'm proud to be a Cougar.
God bless the class of 77 and all the other classes.

It's good to see Tom Burroughs and his lovely bride, Paula, made the extreme drive to attend, and I loved the photo of the Jensen Brothers. Paco, JB and all you balloon tossing experts have started a new Cougartown tradition. ...JB what's this.."I do know she's all done with Cougartown so he must be doing something." I've been here in the shadows...checking the goings on from time to time. I've been very busy with the kitchen remodel, which has taken 6 months to complete. That must be a record. My sister, Linda, built a four bedroom house in less time. And, of course, Cecil is doing something, often. He's in Dallas right now packing up his house and next week he'll be coming to Redondo Beach for good. I'll be at the next Cougartown event no matter what. I miss you guys! That picnic must have been a blast and I'm so sorry I missed it. No accordion?
