Message: When I was six years old I sent for a live turtle which was delivered by the mailman in a little box with holes punched in it. It cost one dollar plus tax. All I had to do, or my mom ,was to fill out the order form on the back of Mr. Bubbles bubble bath and the rest was easy. Now it's illegal to send turtles through the mail. Oh the good old days.
Love and peace from the Great Northwest.

I got a horny toad once from my Dad's Uncle Charles in Texas. It came parcel post and was inside a match box and had the ends taped shut with holes punched in it. No one even thought about the irreparable psychological damage done to the horny toad back then. He only lived for about 4 years after his traumatic trip from Texas to CA. I remember putting him inside the box car on my electric train set, and giving him rides. I think he liked it as he never once complained.

I am relieved somewhat because I thought poor ole Kissin' Dan had scared the Sloe Guy away from riding bikes and thought "well how rude!" And what's this we hear from Jerry about stories of Kissin' Dan being a real ladies' man ... Mmmmm! Very interesting. Man! I can hardly wait to get there and get the scoop! Glad Judi is feeling better Russ and that you will, in fact, be at Cruise Night.

Doris you're not the only one who's excited. Were about to explode over here in Kuna. Jude's pretty much healed up from the crash, thank the good Coug in the sky. Hey Jerry, Thanks for the BD wishes and great seeing you at the reunion. Some people haven't changed and others I would not believe were the same people if they showed their birth certificate at the door. I recognized you right off and glad you felt at home again after 40 years. See you on the 14th, Jerry. Fosters hasn't changed much either.

Message: Happy Birthday to the King of Cougartown!! I was thinking just recently about how, when we are young, we just want to experience life - it's all about us. Then we reach the GOOD part, where we realize that it's about so very much more and we just HOPE that in some small way, we have left our mark and made an impact on the world. You, my friend, have achieved that and so much more. There isn't a present special enough to show you how much you are loved by so many. Have a wonderful year! Love, Sue, Darryl and Stuey

Message: I don't normally get involved in forwarding emails to distribution lists no matter what the subject. But this case hits close to home and I'd like to help my friend in any way possible. He lost his daughter in 1998 to a parental kidnapping and has gotten to a point where he can't afford to keep his detective on the case full time. I've been sending the missing child poster, news article (from 4/00) and pictures of the mother to everyone I know to send to everyone they know. We're doing other mailings also. I was hoping the Cougartown community might want to help by forwarding the information I have to your distribution lists. I even emailed www.snopes.com (where you can check on email hoaxes, etc) to let them know I was doing this so they'd have heads up if/when anyone checked the validity of the story. My friend's daughter was 3 when he lost her and will be 7 on Oct 10. If you'd like to help by forwarding the information I have, please email me at cindyw01@netzero.net. Thanks for listening!
Thanks Cindy, I know lots will want to help.

Message: My son is a student a Fullerton College and as part of one of his classes he will be a DJ tonight from 6-9 PM PDT on KBPK a local station to the Buena Park area. This station can also be heard via the web by one of the following methods. There are multiple ways to get to the internet broadcast.
#1) Visit www.kbpk-fm.com and click on Listen At Work. This site has been down for a while and they're working at getting it back up.
#2) On Windows Media Player, select Online Radio, then the Adult Contemporary (AC) genre -- which is like a KOST or KBIG -- then KBPK from Fullerton College. This should stream the audio directly to the WMP.
#3) Visit www.warpradio.com and type in KBPK in the "Call Letters" box at the top towards the right side of the screen. This will bring up another page to listen, view the web page, and lists contact information.
My broadcast is every Wednesday from 6-9pm and every computer that is logged in at that time gets 1 more internet rating point for me (regardless of if people are actually listening or not). The old fashioned way is tuning in to 90.1 FM within about a 5-mile radius from the school. This doesn't give Arbitron ratings, unless the person listening is actually filling out a radio diary, which is rare. If you can listen via the WEB as he gets a larger Internet rating. Thanks, Chris

Will do Chris, thanks.....

Message: I would like to thank Cougartown for giving and getting rid of "KLEZ". The "Klez" arrived in a zip file from, what I thought were pictures from the 62ers reunion, our own JB2. JB2 never sent them. I was between virus programs. My old McAfee wasn't letting me update, so I bought Norton and it found it. I want to thank Cougartown's Katheen "0's and 1's" Griffin! What'a sweety. She helped me with the removal and installation. I have a suggestion, first update your virus program, then when you send an e-mail put your name in the subject line. Keep those pics coming!
Good idea Howard, First and foremost, get a good anti-virus software loaded up and running on your computer. It does no good to just have an anti-virus program on your computer. It has to be up to date and checking each and every email you receive.
This will virtually eliminate your virus problems.
The KLEZ virus is particularly troublesome because it does nothing to degrade your computer. All it does is send the virus via your email software with randomly selected email addresses from your address book. It looks like it's coming from one source, but in actuality it's coming from another. If you have the virus, please contact Kathleen Griffin at ct_helpdesk@yahoo.com
She will rid your computer of the virus. Paul Crotty, are you listening?

If you have comments or suggestions, please email me at john14@cougartown.com
