Message: [With sincerest apologies to Johnny Mathis as sung by Gary Bellotti] Look at me, I get misty just thinking about us not playing in the Rose Bowl. I would be more helpless than a Husker, but once in a lifetime, was all that we asked, I get misty just looking at RED. On my own and a million huskers begin to cheer, not for a duck, or for a cane, they want huskers oh such a pain, we could have lost by so much more than they did. ROBIN IS RIGHT-JOHNNY MATHIS FOR ME!

Message: Thanks, John, for selecting Elvis' "One Night With You". I remember when that version came out when I was 14 or 15. There was another version also that my dad was very upset about. He thought that my sweetheart and I would listen to that other version and get some "ideas" from it. hehehe OUR song though was "Loving You" by Elvis, listened to on the hi-fi and slow danced to in the patio house in my folk's backyard. At that time, we never thought those words in that song would still be true 44+ years later!! The feelings and memories are still there and I know the words by heart!!
I think the version you're talking about was "One Night Of Sin" by Jimmy Reed. Definitely a racy subject for the 50's.

After almost 35 years I guess he is used to my ways. By the way, we have forsaken TV for music and have introduced our Grandchildren to music, dancing and enjoyment of the options. We have a LARGE collection of music from Classical to POP, Rock, Country, JAZZ. Our Grand children actually ask for music so they can dance! Has any one else heard on the VENTURES PLAY THE CLASSICS? It is just wonderful, Too Bad we found it so long after they recorded it! IT is so good!

How about, SINCE I DON"T HAVE YOU (Skyliners), FOR YOUR LOVE( Ed Townsend), TONIGHT TONIGHT( The Mello Kings) THEME FROM A SUMMER PLACE (Percy Faith). Enough? Heck we really didn't have a special make out song, we made out whenever there wasn't an adult around. How about a little dirty dancing... one comes to mind, STAY, by (Maurice Williams). How about the rest of you? By the way Walter Holt, as you seem to be quite knowledgable about rock n roll. Whatever happened to the lead singer from Jay and The Americans? To me he had the greatest voice range of any rock singer I've ever heard. I've heard nothing of his whereabouts since the mid 60's. Any other votes? And yes John and Paco I know what happened last thurs. night! Also sat night! Like beat the # one team in the USA. It will be a long season. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU! Jake N Jude!

Bob, are you kidding, is EJ really in the calendar, if he is kudos to him and hail, hail Rock n Roll! Saw that Cruise night is set, hopefully we will have a better turnout than last time.
Now, I was reading an article one time that had readers name the best "Make Out" song ever. I would be curious as to see what fellow Coug's were, and it will be interesting to see from each decade what that song is. For me, I think the best make out song is anything that Bread did, and Marvin Gayes Lets get it on.
Looking forward to seeing the responses.

Just wanted to check in the all you Coug's and hope you all had a pleasant weekend. A special thanks to my buddy Bill, who kept me company on Friday, I have never done that over the phone before, and before you all think naughty thoughts it's not THAT. We did Tequila shots over the phone (Did not feel like drinking alone that night). As for the different views on the war, I too am tired of hearing about people dying, unfortunately that is part of war, and like it or not we need to be where we are. I dont live in New York, so I can not smell the smoke, or be constantly reminded of the space the WTC once filled. But every now and then, I will read something about a victim or their family, and the anger and resolve comes back. Thought I would throw in my 2 cents. When the heck is cruise night?
I'll know the answer to that this week. Thanks for the patience....

Message: Hello fellow Cougars! I want to thank all of you that voted for my photo of the hens and chicks in the Birds and Blooms magazine a few months ago. I won that competition, due in large I am sure to your votes! Now, this issue, Feb/March contains the final contest. It is between myself and the winners from the three other categories. These were photos of birds, butterflies and children. The photo that receives the most votes and wins this final competition gets the free domestic vacation package!!!! I tell you what, after shoveling 4 feet of snow off our roof last week, my husband and I are more than ready for a vacation to a nice warm location. I do think that southern California was one of the choices! With two kids in college and our daughter getting married in April, there won't be a vacation in our future for quite a while otherwise! Of course you must vote for which ever photo you like the best. But ----- if you are in a generous mood and feel inclined to help out a fellow Cougar again, please click here and vote in the photo contest. My picture is # 2, the hens and chicks in the retaining wall. You do not have to be a subscriber, just a reader of the magazine or a visitor to the web site to vote. Again, I appreciate all your help! Thanks, Chris
Hens and Chicks?? It looks more like a plant. Anyway it's number 2 (Blooming Beauty). OK Cougs, let send Chris and her husband on a vacation.....Good Luck
