Message: I am giving the prom committee a heads up that I am planning on stopping by the prom after seeing Eric Clapton. It will be a quick in the door and out, I really want to see Pat Burris again. I have told my present boyfriend Carl that he is still the most handsome man I have ever known. Of course, I have not seen Lyle D. in ages. My friends know we are really crashing the party, and they are okay with this. How late does this event last? Lisa
Lisa, There will be security at the door; you won't be allowed to enter without Prom ID. I'm glad you said something now, as maybe others were planning on coming late and walking in. It wouldn't be fair to the 350 plus people who paid for the event. Sorry........
You might email Pat Burris and have him meet you in the lobby at a certain time. Just a thought.

I even tried to lure him with the thought of "gordo red" as a cocktail. ;o) It's a "job" thing, and I know everyone can relate. I assured him they will be missed. So, John, I tried ..
I could have called that one.

Hey Mike, Glad you stopped by. Morningsiders are always welcome here. If you remember all those other places you should remember Ah-Ha's.
And how about the Cougar-Monarch gilded peanut. This one was after a 21-12 Cougar victory in 1955......there were many many more. Thanks Mike and come on back anytime.

So if you wish to submit some trivia questions for the contest, forward them to Sharon Moore Leach at hawthornehigh66@aol.com. However, if we use your question, you will not be eligible to win a prize for that question. You'll have to wait for another question. Looking forward to seeing some of the questions people suggest. Message: Romper Room was one of my favorites around 1951 and I think it went “Romper Bomper Stomper Boo... Tell me, tell me, tell me who...Did all my friends have fun at play...Did all my friends have fun today.” Then she would look through the magic mirror and name the children she saw. I’m glad this was before I saw 1984. It would have scared me to death. By the way the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile has it’s own site at http://www.kraftfoods.com/oscar-mayer/wmobile/index.html I’m looking forward to seeing some of classmates and other Cougs at the reunion and Prom next week. It promises to be one heck of a weekend.

All he'd say was, "If you get caught, I never saw you." I'd speed off to Winchell's for a chocolate covered old-fashioned. Get caught? By WHOM? I'd stop and chat with the handsome young policeman assigned to HHS parking lot security... then, on with my mission! Noel was a doll to work for. But, Konnie was and still is my eternal favorite. I learned more on Cougar Staff... some of it even had to do with writing!

She had a Ph.D. I remember that show. She opened it up by ringing a bell. There was also a show in the fifties that had a mirror that could see all the children's faces through the television. Romper Room I think. Also, there was Pinky Lee. Don't remember much about that show. Anyway, it was a nice walk down memory lane.

Message: I have been reading about all the excitement that has been going on regarding the prom this month. It sounds like it will be a great time. Unfortunately, I cannot attend that evening due to a previous engagement. However, if you all will bear with me, I do have a reunion experience I would like to share. When I was attending HHS, I was neither popular nor an outcast, I was in the middle. I knew the popular people, and were friends of the outcasts as well. I was involved in Cougar staff from my Soph year till graduation. I suppose I had a recognizable face. Many of you who had known me since 6th grade at Sepulveda had known me as Jill, many on the Cougar staff knew me as Lee, while my teachers knew me as Leslie. (Confused?)
With my 20 year reunion approaching, I was hesitant about going, because since I was not popular I had a feeling no one would know or remember me. Well, as soon as I walked in the door, I got greeted by a man who I had known since 6th grade, he knew who I was without looking at my name tag because of my smile. That alone made it worth coming to the reunion. As the night went on, I was really flattered and in awe of my fellow classmates that had come up to me and tell me how sweet I was, or how goofy and crazy, and that they remembered me for my sense of humor. Thank you Ken Holcomb! I guess what I am trying to say is if you want to go to the prom, go, and dont worry about if people will remember you, because chances are they will. I am glad I went to my 20 year, and am looking forward to the 25th year, especially now because I have shared this website with so many of my old classmates.
John, I know you must be getting tired of the thank yous and accolades, but you have given us all a tremendous gift with this webpage. I would love to be more involved, so please let me know what I can do.

You're right Jill, Prom Night is for everyone. It will be a magical night for many too, as maybe they didn't go to their own Prom. It will be magical for others because they'll be reunited with old friends. Still others will dance the night away with a NEW friend and who knows, maybe make a lifelong relationship from a Cougar they would've otherwise never met. What I'm trying to say is when given these chances, do NOT miss them. If you're sitting on the fence, GO to the Prom. You won't regret it, as something magical will happen to you.
Jill, Your class does need a Reunion representative, at least on the website. If you have, or can get your hands on a Missing List for your class.....well Email me if you can get one, and thanks for volunteering.

If you have comments or suggestions, please email me at jb1@cougartown.com
