Does anyone remember the name of the show and the logo that was used?
Dimples
Bob, ???, and Larry Yeakel. I do remember the show and again it's only a guess, but was it Stairway to Stardom? I think the Collins kids were on that show.

And thanks to John we reconnected. We three met in Monterey, and those plans were laid before the 75 reunion that just occurred in Orange County. We were sorry to miss it.

Jim Peppers
Hi Jim, Sheriff John was portrayed by John Rovick, who won a belated Emmy in 1998 for his local LA role as the good Sheriff who influenced the late Baby Boomers.
Ms. Zalowski is still missing.

I'm guessing here....Les Bacon Ford?
The voice of Ralph Williams, before Ralph started doing his own spots was Chick Lambert and his dog "Storm". Storm was a German Shepherd, and he would usually be asleep on the hood of a car. That's when Cal Worthington came up with "Here's Cal Worthington and his dog Spot" commercials. Thanks Jerry....

I was there '82-'86 and all four years I had a great time and never had problems... (except for a broken heart... but hey! it was high school!) I never felt myself slipping down hill... and I BET you would find students there now who are enjoying their time there and are proud of their school.
Before I started at HHS I remember people making comments about it and how bad it was. I was scared before I went. Of course the school wasn't perfect (what IS perfect?!) but I think high school is what you make of it. If you wanted to learn, there was learning to be had...(is that even a sentence?? ) If you wanted to have fun, you could have fun. And there was always something we could do to have pride in our school and fellow classmates.
I had friends from the class of '83 and there were some great people from that class... but no more or less than all the classes before and after...
Just my 2 cents...
Can't wait for the prom!!! Thanks Judy and Janet for getting the plans started!! Thanks John for this site!.....oh, and John, could you PLEASE post a better picture of me this time? I HATE that reunion picture!!

John, good question. 'Do we ask for WJ or Barnstorming Bill?'
Some of the people at Bracket Field will know who Barnstorming Bill is. Last summer, I worked part time on the weekends doing banner towing. I did low and slow flying up and down the beaches from Santa Monica to Newport. Also flew banners over sports events as well as flying personals for parties, proposals, and weddings. I quit that job (last October) after about three months due to what I thought was rather poor maintenance of the company's aircraft. I was right. About two months ago one of that company's planes landed on the Harbor Freeway just south of Staples Center. Yes, I am a bit of a barnstormer. I have also had some crop dusting lessons, but never went to into that line.
Since I don't have my Hop-A-Long Cassidy hat any longer, you won't be able to identify me that way. Your best bet is to ask for Bill Jensen or the driver of the red Stinson.

Message: For all you guys and gals out there who are into cars and planes, this Sunday (Oct. 15) is the third Sunday of the month. That means it's time for the monthly showing of old cars and planes at Bracket Field in La Verne. This is a small monthly showing of old cars and aircraft that takes place from about 10AM to 3PM. Anyone is welcome to attend or display their vehicle at no cost. The airport is located just west of the LA fairground and Pomona raceway. If you are driving out there, just go left before entering the fairground and you will end up at the airport. There is a picnic area next to parking lot and aircraft ramp just East of the restaurant. This is where the event will take place. I plan to fly out there Sunday in my red 1948 Stinson, weather permitting. So, if you are in the vicinity and have nothing better to do, drop by. It is a very casual event. If you do drop by, be sure and ask for me.

Sounds like I missed a great homecoming weekend. I turned the big 60 on the 6th & decided I would spend it on the seat of my motorcycle heading for Baton Rouge LA to visit a great 58er, Ray Shelley. Left Thurs. made Roswell that night. On Fri. I turned 60 & the bike turned over 90,000 miles! Stayed in Fort Worth fri. night with my son & was in Baton Rouge Sat . afternoon. What a great CT mini reunion , seeing Ray again. We said have a great summer & that was 42 summers ago! Ray is the same great, straight forward guy I remember. Has not changed a bit! A real rarity in this day in age, when people you have not seen in years, feel they must tell you how rich & important, & successful they are. Wow, no BS just Ray as I remember him back when. Left Sun. morning & was back home last night. Short trip, but worth every mile! Again, would not have happened if it wasn't for this John Baker guy! We love you man! As soon as you have a date for the next Cruise Night posted I am going to try to get Ray to AZ, & we will drive over together. John we owe ya! TB from AZ
Hey TB well isn't that a coincidence. You spent the weekend with Ray Shelley in Louisiana, and his little brother Tom Shelley was at Homecoming with the rest of us. Hope you had a great 60th Tom. We were talking about you at the game, and I just knew you'd come waltzing through the gate at any time. We'll see you at the next cruise night in February.......bring Ray!!!

Message: Hi John,
I had a great time at Homecoming, and the party after. It was wonderful seeing all the familiar faces of my past. I think everyone had a great time. I have always said those years at HHS were the best years of my life.
I had not been back to Hathorne in many years, and was sad to see how it has changed. There were so many buildings, and old haunts gone. I don't remember Ramona Ave being that narrow and I didn't remember the houses being so small. I remember riding my skateboard with Mitch Junkin down the big hill At Ramona and 132St. Hey Mitch, we were wimps, that's not a hill, it's a speed bump!
Finally, I would like to thank Heather, Sherree, Dale, Shannon and Mike for all the hard work not just for this years reunion, but for our 10 and 20 years also. You all are the best and again you pulled off another great night for all who attended. Everything was great, I could not of asked for a better night. Thanks again for all you have done for all of us in the Class of 75'.
And John, thanks for donating the Cougartown shirts for our raffle, I won one of them for " (Most Grandchildren)!
Hey classmates, may God bless you and and keep you and yours safe tell we meet again at our 30 year reunion.
Even after all these years, and after all the changes I will forever be true to my school.

Also in that block was Buffington Pontiac/Cadillac and across the street was the original location of Sparling Buick. Lots of next stuff close by including a small speed shop on Regent street that had a lot of flathead stuff and eventually evolved into 'Donovan Engineering'. He shortened an Olds rear end to fit under Ed Lenarth's 41 Studebaker. I think the Chevy dealer down the street on LaBrea was Century. Happy to inform you that Mrs. Beckwith is 93 yrs. young this year.
