Message: Hi KATHY STONEBRAKER, My daughter works for the Anaheim Union High School Dist. and my son-in-law works for the Garden Grove Unified School Dist. Both are teachers. My daughter believes these are the best paying districts in O.C. Anaheim has a separate dist for lower grades. Orange is the lowest paying dist. and has been having problems for quite some time now. It will probably be the easiest to get a job with if you are a teacher as a lot of the older teachers are quiting over disputes with the dist. I don't know if this is effecting the teacher aide's or clerical jobs or not. Are you related to Pat Stonebraker? I graduated with her. Happy job hunting.

Nancy first married Gary Miller, who I believe was class of either 1963 or 1964, and Willie Johnson ( or is it Johnston?) was Gary's best man. Well, some best man! About a year and a half or two years later, Nancy divorced Gary and married Willie. He was in I think the air force and they lived in Germany for a few years! How's that for a small world story and wild family history week!

Hey all you Cougs. Our own Howard Paco Duran has a place that he loads pics of Cougs from different eras. If you've got some to show off, and I'm not getting them up here fast enough, then send them to doo4usc@aol.com, and let him know whose in the picture. Howard changes his pics about every week and can provide quick service to you Cougs who are anxious to see your pics on the net. To see Pacos Pics, go to the top of the Feedback Page. Thanks Paco.

Just looked up Jamie in the 1999 yearbook. Don't recognize her so she must be one of the good kids!! I worked with Mrs. Day (Rm. 12) at the junior high which is where she might know me from. Chris graduated 2 years ago and Danny graduated this year! Jamie might remember Danny as the long hair guy who played the guitar in the jazz band. He was into drama too. He directed the fall play and was in the spring play. Don't know if that will ring any bells for her.

Message: Class of 61 of LHS, that is! Hi John, can you please tell me how to find this site? I know that sounds like a dumb question, but I have it listed on my Favorites list and, dumb me, can't remember how I found it, have been in touch with several people that want to check this out, and I don't know how to tell them to get here. LOL Thanks, still check in on this every night. Where the heck is the class of 61? Thanks again. Sharon

Hi Sharon, If you tell them to go to Yahoo or Infoseek or most major search engines, just type in "Hawthorne California" it should be right near the top. The easy way is to type "cougartown.com" without the quotation marks in the location line on your browser. Still another way is to type into an email "http://cougartown.com" again without the quotation marks and they can just click on that hyperlink. Thanks Sharon for passing the word. and I hope this helps.

Message: Hi All... Now that I'm off for the summer and have the house listed with a real estate agent (instead of trying to sell it ourselves) I have some time to check in!! No John, I'm not afraid of a "little" work :):) I had a ball helping with the reunions last year. I've just been extremely busy working and keeping the home fires burning while Steve worked in LA during the week. We're finally ready to sell the house and move to Fullerton/Anaheim area!! Both "Killer" and the "DJ" are working at Disneyland now. The only one who needs a job down there is me! Anyone know which school districts are good to work for in Orange County??
Christine - Dolly Madison was on Prairie Ave, close to 120th. When Chris worked at the grocery store he carded anyone who looked younger than 80 mostly to make them feel good!! He said he really enjoyed the look on "older" womans faces when he asked for I.D. Not that you (or I) are older!!!
If we're not moving that weekend, hope to see everyone at Foster's on the 5th!!

Well Kathy Lorig Stonebraker......out on bail huh?? It IS nice that you check into the website OH every year or two.
Hey this year you have off from the work you and your family put in last year. If you come to a function, you won't have to do a thing. Just show up will ya'. We miss you guys.

JB and JB2 : mom and I want to go to Hennesseys in Hermosa for lunch next week. Around 11:30 am-ish. Can you make it? Anyone else? Date is open at this moment so please check your calendars and chime in.
Also, that piece about the signers of the Declaration of Independence- Rush Limbaugh stated on his show July 5 that his father wrote that speech. Apparently Rush had the same email forwarded to him. Now before you get on my case about my tuning in to that show just let me state my case: I had 50 feet of fence to paint and that's the only talk station my little Walkman can pick up when it's attached to my backside. Besides it helped me get the fence done faster! As for tri-tip wars II, September is looking better for us too.

Hey Sharon, I can't speak for JB2 as she's still up north. Let me know which day next week and I'll try and make it. As far as the "nasty truths" go, that train has already left the station.

Message: Okay, I'm going to admit something. I'm car impaired. I know nothing about those old automobiles that you all chat about from time to time. Which is why I decided to get some feedback from this group.
My Hippie Hubby just bought a 1936 Chevy 5-window Coupe. He said it's complete and stock. Original Mohair interior in fine condition. Said it has the original paint as well. The car has 64K original miles on it. He's having the car shipped from Iowa where it has been garaged for most of the last century.
I haven't seen this thing yet, but I'm wondering just how much it's worth? Does anyone here have a clue?
Clueless in SP......

Hi Kathleen, The ad above is the closest thing I could find to your car. The picture, BTW, is not the car that goes with the above ad. I found a complete "body off" restoration for $30,000. That car would need absolutely nothing, and should be just like brand new, inside and out. It's very hard to judge by what a person says, as to what a car is worth. I would say between 2500 and 6500 for an original car. There are so many variables. Hope this helps a little.
