Message: I finally sat down and caught up on the feedback. Need to make a point of checking in more often, my eyes are starting to cross! All the talk about desert riding brings back many fond memories. We started on our first bike (a Suzuki 175, I think) and after being bucked off the back of it a few times we bought me a 125. On Feb. 11, 1968 (my first wedding anniversary) we road to the top of Trabuca (sp) mountain in Orange County with some friends. Took along the top of our wedding cake to share. Spent the next umpteen years on bikes near Victorville (Bell Mtn) Being raised on Cedar ave., we were close to St. Joe's. Some of my best friends went there - Jane DeLisle and her siblings, Kathy Bowker, Ernie Rael (he went to Serra) and his sister Rosina... I'm sure there were more. Where are all these people, does anyone know? Hye Cuz Norv (I just can't call you Norm) I don't think I remember you went to Hawthorne Christian.
And... as for Tomahawk Automotive, my brother Tom did hatchet work for sure, in fact, working in my garden the other day someone asked me why I was doing something the way I was and I answered "I do hatchet work!" They just looked at me kind of strange - guess you have to know and understand the Bell's - we are kind of strange, dontcha think JB? Hope our weather is this perfect for WCW - we're looking forward to it!

Message: Hey Monkey, I will try to make the wine country thang! My problem is that I never gave up the jock stuff. I coach 4 teams, and they are a no. 1 priority...so scheduling any other life is usually last minute. Maybe I will schedule some tourneys in San Jose. Also, we've been asked to play in Galt...where is that? I had planned on trying a Pink's run this Friday, but it depends on high school playoffs. I think Connie Jax, Jean Chesson, and Pauline Spenser are going (sorry about the maiden names girls). I had talked with Joyce Matthew (she with no computer) about going, but now I don't even know if I can. Anyway, wine country...Sue Kiester Ferguson lives in San Jose, so try getting her to come. She doesn't post, but does respond to Emails. What a nice person she is! I saw the Beach Boys show on TV the other nite too...cool show, but I kept finding myself scanning the audience for Cougs. They need to revive the Lloyd Thaxton show. Now there are some memories, right Connie! Tom MacIssac...post some stuff! And get Jim St Hilare on too! I KNOW SOME GOOD MEMORIES WOULD COME FROM YOU GUYS...but keep it (fairly) clean.
Will the wine trip include Red Mountain, Strawberry Hill, or "Mad Dog 20/20"???

Hey Gary, I don't know about those wines, but Janet and I were passing through Ridgecrest and found a delightful little vintage called "Night Train Express". I don't know if you drink it or clean your mag wheels with it. Anyway, we'll be giving that one away on WCW. Just a hint of the fun things going on that weekend. If you want to go, you'd better make reservations NOW!!

Message: Hello everybody. Is anybody from the class of 61 reading these pages. Is Sharon Rae West out there? If Jeanne Houck Adams ever checks in, perhaps that would be a way for me to get in touch with Sharon and her brother Gary, who is my Godfather. I really would like to know what has become of them. Thank you John for showing the picture of the bowling club! The feedback page makes for interesting and nostalgic reading for me. I've been living in Greece for so long that I'd even forgotten what the U.S.A. was like way back when....
Hey Jim, Glad to do it. I hope you have some luck finding your friends, as I know hundreds of people have reunited through Cougartown and it's only a matter of time until your friends come along too. Thanks for being out there Jim.....

Message: Hey Bill Snyder. YouR pencil stabbing story at St. Joseph reminds me of the time a kid named Dale Holmes made a pencil dart with a straight pin taped onto it, and sent it flying into my back. He's also the one that smashed one of those marshmallow pies (remember those?) down my shirt. I didn't feel too bad when good old big sis Peggy tossed Dale into a dumpster at school (can't remember why). She got a detention for it (I think from Sr. Ann Denise) - but I'm sure it was worth it! :)

Francis Rodriguez threw a football across the parking lot playground and hit david lopez in the back of the head. unlike the nun story, david lopez was not knocked out. david lopez was also the toughest kid in our grade. Rodriguez ran for his life. Lopez cornered Rodriguez behind the church. THEN, OUT OF NOWHERE, POPS DAVID GILMAN, the smallest kid in our grade. He wasn't really a friend of lopez or rodriguez. gilman proceeds to PLUNGE A SHARPENED PENCIL INTO DAVID LOPEZ'S BACK. lopez turned and chased gilman across the parking lot with the pencil sticking firmly in the back of lopez's blood stained white shirt . pretty cool thing to see when you're in fifth grade.

Message: Ok, since so many other people are doin' it, I figured I'd throw out a couple of names and ask if anyone knows whatever happened to... Jeff Bodkin
Craig Bodkin
I remember going along with those two brothers one Saturday to the old Busch Gardens in Van Nuys. This was after we'd graduated, but before any of us was old enough to drink. We figured we'd try to see if we could get away with convincing the staff that we were old enough to deserve the free samples they used to give away.
Much to the constrenation of Jeff (the older one), his brother Craig was the only one of us that was able to get away with it. We got discouraged and left after a few minutes.
Anyway, who knows what ever happened to those two trouble makers?

Message: Hi everyone!! I put in my veggie garden this weekend...I think I'll visit the hospital this afternoon. The old bod just ain't what it used to be!! Keith Jones, congratulations on your win!! Perhaps you would be kind enough to send poor David Clayton the $5 that guy owes him, he needs the money!! SUSAN WALLING, I spoke with my Mom last night, she sends you her love. She told me of the time she had to measure you for your 8th grade uniform...she said "My god, this kid is so tall! I'm gonna need a chair for this one!" For those of you who don't know her, my Mom is all of 5'1" (she'd kill me if I left that inch out) and a rolly polly person. SHARON MAC DONALD, my sister-in-law's boyfriend and family are all big BUCKY fans. Because we live so close to the Rose Parade route, my Sister-in-law is in Tournament of Roses (a "white suiter" no less), and the "Kelly's" are native Wisconsin-ites", I always seem to get about 10 houseguests at the holidays. Most of which I don't even know. Year before last they brought their dogs, too!! I think we had 13 dogs in the house that week. Well, my old Italian Grandmother always said, "Where there's room for 100, there's room for 101. G, put some more water in the soup!" Anyway, one year Mr. Kelly was cleaning up after a game and found a "Bucky" button. He didn't look at it just pinned it on with the intention of giving it to his, then, 10 year old son. No one seemed to like the button, but he was bound and determined to support his team, even if they were in a slump. He showed this botton to all who he encountered, one man said he wouldn't be proud to wear it at all! Mr. Kelly, proud as can be, went home to show his wife the treasure he found and to give it to his son. MRS. Kelly (the church's choir leader) told him he wasn't going to give such a thing to Tim, and asked if he had looked closely at it. Just read it she said. The button said "F_ck'em Bucky!!" So, after there week stay with us as they were driving away I called out F_ck'em Bucky!
Hey Great stories Gina, Thanks and I do believe you ARE Rowdy girl material.....

Tom Burroughs: Not Denny Reading, when I knew him he was driving a green '57 chev PU. Was there a Norris in that class about 5' 8" to 10" stocky with curley brown hair? YES!!! Tomahawk Automotive, with our fearless president Tom Bell. It didn't matter what it looked like as long as it was running.
That was Dr. Mudds plane on the southwest corner of the airport. I heard he had a pilot there at all times, but I can't remember that plane ever missing from its spot.
