Message: Hey..wait a minute here!!!! POPE PAUL wants to stay with Keith Jones!!!!! I think not!! As a former St. Joseph's school girl and Queen ROWDY I think us ROWDYS have an obligation to open up our homes to the Pope. We'll have some of Marsha's famous onion and milk dip..(been brewing for 3 days now) and we'll party down -like crazy..then on Jan 2..the Pope can hear confessions...we'll be forgiven..and everything will be OK.. Who said I didn't learn anything in Catholic school... Love each and everyone of you..Mississippi River to those who know what that means..and I'm off like a prom dress.
Judy Wudy DeGrazia THE ROWDYS.
P.S. Janny Wanny Chicken Fanny hits the door on January 4th.. (oh well, back to confession)
I guess if Jesus fed the multitudes with 3 raw fish and a loaf of bread, the Pope will feel right at home bunkin' in with the Rowdys.
Have a great New Year Judy Wudy. You thought 1999 was great !!! You ain't seen nothin' yet.....

Message: Dear Cougardom and most especially, Dear John: As a world, we sit here on the cusp of the new millenium we are looking toward a marvelous new future. For those of us in Cougartown, we have the very special good fortune to be able to do that while we are also "looking back". It is a remarkable vantage point and one that I wish the rest of the world could share. It IS really that awesome John. Lives have changed due to this site and we love you. The happiest of New Years all - look forward - look back - look out 2000! See you all on the other side!!
Sue, From where I'm sitting, I can see Ken Maynard, Bob Steele, and Hoot Gibson all fading into the sunset. There goes Captain Midnight, Flash Gordon, and Space Patrol too. Ah, it was a grand time.... childhood. I'll never forget it. Now we have the Internet to keep these memories alive and it can only get better. I don't exactly know what's over "Millennium Hill" but I'm sure it's something we can use to make this ride more enjoyable. Thanks Sue for being out there. If it weren't for the Internet, you and your family would be strangers to me. That alone has been worth the price of admission. Have a great New Year and keep the memories in sight.

Message: Well, just one more day. I have several friends in town now and three of them are in my living room as I write sleeping on the couches and floor. I was planning on going to a nice dinner tommorrow at Michaels then really not much. I was suppose to go the the Smothers Brothers (wow neat) Then my one friend got tickets to Rod Stewart at the Rio given to him. Then my other friend got an extra ticket to Santana at the Hard Rock Hotel. I'm for just staying at home and watching everything on TV and looking out my telescope at the strip (what I can see). What should I do...Stewart, Santana or the infamous Smothers Brothers. I really think I'm going for the stay at home choice. Anyway I'm sure I'll have fun. Hope everyone else has a great and safe New Years and I hope I get some interesting pics I can send to John. If I don't that meant I stayed at home. Hauoli Makahiki Hou Happy New Year

Keith with all your friends do you have a STAR? I don't think so! Tell us John how Keith can get a star next to his name. (I bet it involves keeping your head out of a bike rack that went zooming by you at 45 mph, huh John?) HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yes, that's exactly what it is. The people with stars, have never done a stupid thing in their lives.
No, actually those are membership stars and Keith, all you have to do is click here and fill out the form and send in your 10 bones and you too will have a spinning star next to your name.

Message: John, I didn't know Olivia, but anytime something tragic happens to a fellow Cougar, I hurt. As far as People magazine goes, let these vermin get their info somewhere else. They only go digging for dirt when something like this happens. Didn't we already discuss her, and her desire to stay out of the limelight about, say 150 pages ago? I think we Cougars should do the honorable thing and tell the rags to go pound sand. Unless, of course, they want to do a story about some guy with a little website, who brought a thousand or so schoolmates back together. :)

Message: Hey Norma, You didn't mention that Lee Leonard was a quarter midget driver in the 50's. I watched him drive a Kurtis car back then and he was very competitive and then he went on to half midgets etc. I had the twin to his 69 Vette right down to the 'Monza red' color until I blew mine up with only 4 thousand miles on it and bolted in a L88 with all the good stuff and it was off to the races again.
And as for you JB, Cougartown has given many of us that are not as outgoing as yourself a sense of belonging. Not only are you a terrific 'html' programmer but you have an enormous amount of imagination which is needed to keep things cookin here. I hope all of the visitors appreciate how much time is needed to maintain such a dynamic web site such as this, not to mention all of the scanning, research, answering mail etc.. "Mind Boggling". Well so much for the back patting, get back to work. Kudos to Mr. John Baker for an impossible task well done. Got room for another chili dog John?
Thanks for that. You know I don't think of it as work, as much as I think of it as my life. I love this place and all you nuts from my past. It's what I do now.
Hey Denny, I was in getting my last haircut of the millennium this morning and was telling Jim Essner SerraHS58 and Rick Zapf HHS66 about Cruise Night. Jim asked me who would be there that he knew and I said well Richard Hansen and Mike Shay, and I said do you remember Denny Unfried? He was a Corvette guy from the 50's and 60's. He said "Do I remember Denny Unfried??!! He was the one I took with me, and had the give a haircut, when I got my first barber license." So Denny, tell me, did he butcher you badly?
And for all you Lee Leonard fans out there, I was a pretty good quarter midget driver back in the 50's too. Lee, if I could still fit in that car, we'd have a 3 lap trophy dash for the fans on Cruise Night.

Message: Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there. That pretty much describes how our family feels about John Baker from our first meeting.
We probably all feel a little younger and look forward to each day with a little more anticipation and joy in our hearts as we log onto Cougartown wondering what the latest story will be, who is new, who has a particularly poignant memory to share, who had a mini reunion, who found a long lost friend or love, who has a great idea for another big reunion, who remembers a funny occurance that did not seem so funny at the time but has lost its sting over time. The possibilities are endless.
I particularly liked Frank's description of Cougartown...A snug harbor. Works for me!
Wishing all Cougartown a Happy, Happy New Year! See you all the 8th
Thank you Beverly, You know that's exactly what I was saying about you and your tribe out there in Thousand Oaks. If we all don't get together soon, I think I'm gonna BUST!! I love you Mom B. Be a Coug and have a great New Year. We'll see you and all the B's on the 8th of January.

Cougartowns become a snug harbor that enabled so many old friends to become acquainted once again, with a unique format, without barriers to form new friendships. The wonderful gifts & memories from the Ole' Coach, and oh so many others, the eloquent writings of Prince Robin, Sloey, the V's, Mom B and her crew, H.C.H and of course the ROWDY bunch, mixed with the talents of Alan Hauge built upon the cornerstone of a "place in time" created by one John Baker...
