Message: Where was I Nov 22? I was in the student center at El Camino about lunch time. Lots of chatter and fun all around. Then the news... Everyone kept saying it can't be true that the President was shot. People started crying... Yes, I think that is a moment that will always be our memories.
There is 365 days in a year, but on Nov 22, we all stop for a moment to reflect on what happened and where we were at that moment...

Message: I have only discovered this site for two days, my eyes burn at night, because I cant stop reading everything, it's a blast.
It's nice to hear from so many people, it's almost like we have restored our youth, living in our past.
I have noticed Mr. Plotkin is very active with this site, and have enjoyed reading what he has to say.
It's kind of funny we are all getting older, but we really don't change, I suppose it is all relative.
I hope all of us Cougars are enjoying a safe Thanksgiving holiday,
Take Care everyone, Jack
Jack, Yes, Mr. P is a giant part of the website. I almost (i said ALMOST) wish that I'd have been a Westsider so I could have had the privilege of being tutored AND mentored by him. Now those kids parents got their moneys worth.
You're also correct about not changing. Once we get to a certain point, we are who we are. My HHS friends today, are the same people they were at HHS. It's just that the paint might be fading a little on some of us. Thanks Jack, and have a Happy Day.

Neither did my husband have a clue. Did you cheat? You accused me of cheating once....which of course I did, but that's besides the point. Just how did you know that?
Oh, and about that cute little Round Rock High ditty you quoted...it's not only Highschool grads that are required to know the story. Those wishing to become U.S. citizens, if they try to do so in the state of TX, are required to recite the story! I'm sure that other border states have similar stories.
Blondie, The reason I knew that was........well, because I'm so old, I was the one who named it. Loosely translated, it means, "Los Angeles, Land of the Mighty Cougars". Have a great day Christine.

Message: Hey John:
Where the heck did they all go? (The Cougs) The regulars? The cast who were playing the starring roles? Are they at another school site, or has someone turned them on to a free pie eating contest? The list is too long to repeat but it's nearly everyone who made this site sing a few short months ago. As Eddy Cochran once said in the main title of his hit song, "COM'ON EVERYBODY". At least check in with something once in a while. Or tell us you went to Pinks for Thanksgiving. Well, no maybe not that, but at least let us know you're alive. For the rest, I am really thankful to be a part of the growing history here at CT. It has made me feel a part of more than just my class of 1961. Have a great Thanksgiving. And most of all, remember those first people who celebrated this day hundreds of years ago were thankful to be here. To have what we all sometimes take for granted.
Alan
Thanks Alan, You too have a great day tomorrow. I have no idea, but I hope they come home soon.
BTW folks, Alan has this bitchin' sound stage and it's an Alcatraz set (also a squad room set and a court room set). We're planning on having a party there real soon. It'll be like breaking into the studios, only LEGAL. I forget how big it is, but it's BIG!! After the holidays we'll get this one moving too. Thanks Alan for being a gigantic part of Ctown. Tomorrow we're serving up a feast for 30 people at our house. We haven't tried to entertain that many at once before, so there may be some glitches along the way. But with that many friends and family together we'll probably be having too much fun to notice.
I'll check in again on Monday. Hope everyone has a safe and satifying holiday.
Thank you Ingrid, I love this place, not just for the people I went to HHS with, but for all the stories from all the grads. Thanks for being a big part of Cougartown and don't worry about the food glitches, as the big part of Thanksgiving is the being together with friends and family. You'll do fine.

Blondie, That was the "Ice Breaker" game at the picnic; the "Banana Pass". You had to pass the banana between your knees from one person to the next. On my left is Sharon "Swifty" Bierman Branigan HHS76, who had passed it to me. Now I'm getting ready to pass it to the lovely Marsha Russell HHS64. We had about 10 people on each team and if you dropped the banana, you had to start over. Great Fun!! Have a great Thanksgiving Christine. I just noticed that you're in Round Rock, Texas. My Great Grandfather (he wasn't a Cougar), in about 1866, killed some indians who had stolen his horses. That was between Round Rock and Austin. Did you hear about it?
