Message: Neil Larson, I'm so happy to hear about Tom Valentines success! I've often wondered what happened to him. He was such a nice person plus I remember during high school, he filmed the most beautiful movie about gliding. That film made me wish I could fly! "Jumper" looks to be an exciting movie. Thanks for the update. -Regards, Barbara

Message: About Dale Hahlbecks picture....I have to put my 2 cents worth in...I do not know Dales Uncle John....but when I saw that picture of Dale....I was blown away at how much he looks like a Hahlbeck. His dad, Dale Sr, looks a lot like his mother...my aunt Lucille Hahlbeck. I always wondered what her maiden name was...anyway Dale resembles my Mom a bit. I can not pin point it but when I saw the picture it made me think of her. He also made me think of our Uncle Buster...who was around 32 when he died in 1956/57. Dale Jr had an uncanny resemblance to him. Dale mentions his lips on occasion...and my son Neil who is 37 has those same lips...I believe those are true Hahlbeck lips...Neils grandma is the youngest sister of Dales grandpa Bud (Laverne) Hahlbeck. Anyway Dale, those are lips to be proud of!!! Me? I got most of the Caldwell traits. My mom (Juanita Hahlbeck) was a very beautiful woman...in the 40s when she was around 18-22 age group she did a bit of modeling....So beauty does run in the Hahlbeck blood.....take care!

Message: Hey Pizza Show lovers, the best pizza at the Show was in the early 70's when Jim Covell (Lawndale High 72) was at the helm. Man I can still see him tossing those pies in the air. Hey Anthony Stellino remember the Friday nights we would go and then take the pies back to Jim's house while he still had to work?

Message: Hey, why havent we seen those Effler brothers sign up for the tournament yet? We missed you guys last year. It was different to award 1st place to a team without the name Effler in it, we missed your enthusiasm. We are almost halfway to the minimum amount of golfers needed. This tournament will be a good one, so don't miss out. Fore!!!!

Message: This to thank those of you who knew my uncle, Tim Thomas, class of '65. He was killed in Vietnam on the 13th of Feb '68 and I found some posts here about him. He was a very cool and a humble person. Our whole family pretty much broke down when he was killed. I asked my mother, Tim's brother, my father passed away 4 1/2 years ago, for some pictures of him to post. She sent me a couple but is putting more together. She also sent me her copy of the 1968 Lion's All-Star Football game program. On the inside page was a memorial to Uncle Tim. As I said, he was humble and I'm sure would have been honored to be remembered in this way. If anyone would like to know more or has any stories about Uncle Time please feel free to contact me a Beezba(remove)@MSN.Com. Thank you again, Mitch Thomas Proud Nephew

Message: Thanks, Karen! I would really appreciate that. Joan was a very good friend. She lived right down the street from me in the Hollyglen area. BTW, Google Earth is a blessing and a curse. I have been in Florida since 1986, so I did a "tour" of my old Hawthorne haunts from space. It brought back some good memories, but I was saddened by the fact that many of the old places are now gone.

She graduated from UCSB and as far as I know is still in the travel business. I see her once in awhile, had dinner with her a bit more than a year ago. She has been in the the South Bay for years. Message: Ingrid: Could it have been: Say the magic words, say Mission Pack, and its on its merry way, No gift so right, so gay, so bright, give the Mission Pack magic way. During HHS years some of us guys did a parody of Stanley Chevrolet to freak out the gals: Oda's Oda's Oda's Mortuary, two blocks off the San Diego Freeway, 13207 up Ramona, Oda's Mortuary then give the speal from Chick Coffinlaughin, manager of Oda's Mortuary on the special of the month (with genuine tuck and roll interior). To look back, what the heck were we doing?
