Message: I talked to Roland Poltash, Larry Hoffer and Bryan Larsen over the weekend regarding the 71 72 reunion. Larry is trying to get a flight out Seattle, Roland is trying to get the weekend off and fly out of Chicago and Bryan is definitely flying in from Cottonwood Tennessee, yes, Cottonwood! If there is anyone on the fence out there, get off it and make plans on joining your class for a weekend of fun, laughs and memories. Like John says ?I guarantee you'll talk to someone and have something in common. These are absolute treasures and should never be missed?. And don?t forget about Cruise Afternoon at Fosters!

Message: I remember all day movie festivals at the Imperial Theatre. I used to go with Brian White (HHS60), Lyn Acord and Gordon Darnell (HHS63) and Mike Kendall (Serra61) to see all day cartoons, or all day Francis The Talking Mule movies, or all day horror movies, or westerns. Whatever was the pick of the day. They used to have give aways too. Once my number was called for the big prize (a bicycle) and I was too chicken to go up and get it. I took a lot of crap for that when I told the guys on the way home. Also, it was the last time I ever won anything!

Message: Hello Cougars! I remember a cry room. I thought it was at the United Artist theater in Inglewood. Whichever one it was, the Imperial or the United Artist, I do remember pacing up and down in the lobby because I was scared out of my wits and I couldn?t watch anymore. The movie ? The Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D. How I loved those 50?s horror movies. Of course, the best place to see them was at the Plaza. I remember the first one I saw there. It was The Thing. I would hide my eyes, but it did no good because 500 girls would scream at the same time and it would send me flying out of my seat! Have a great summer. We?re baking over here and half the country has been burned down. Hope you all are better off. Jim Peppers

Message: I also saw many movies at the Imperial. If memory serves, they had a "CRY" room. where you could be with small children and their crying would not bother other viewers. I also recall that no casino in Las Vegas had anything on their carpet!

Message: eScrip is a wonderful idea. As a former science teacher and department head, I understand how difficult funding is for supplies and equipment for biology, chemistry and physics labs. I would like to think that this program will also help current HHS students and faculty members in this important area of departmental funding. Many current and former faculty members visit Cougartown.com on a regular basis although their postings are infrequent. Perhaps they can become inspired to enroll in the eScrip program as well. It is a great way to remember Hawthorne High School and all of the wonderful students, current and years past. Thanks to Cougartown.com, I continue to hear from many former students who have chosen careers in the sciences which took root in science classes at Hawthorne High School. Nothing can be more rewarding than that, and the eScrip program can help make that continue to happen.

I have been married 28 years to Richard Call a Inglewood High graduate (1965). We have two boys 28 & 25. I just moved from St. George, Ut. where I worked for the police dept. as a Victim Witness Coordinator. I worked with battered women and all victims of crime. Since moving up north to Heber (10 minutes from Park City) I am retired and spend time fishing and enjoying life.

Message: The only movie that I saw at the Imperial was the "Time Machine" in the very early 60's and the only thing I remember about the theater is the staircase in the lobby. I do remember my father's business across the street, Brown's Hardware and Angie's coffee shop a block west of the Imperial. Angie always kept a jar of peanut butter under the counter for me. Now it is time to advertise about the 71/72 reunion: Our last reunion was a 3 day blast and this one is going to be the same. 2 days of events along with The Foster's Cruise on Saturday afternoon. Get your reservations in ASAP.

Message: Hey class of 77, the reunion is just around the corner and fast approaching. I have been getting emails from some teachers who are interested in stopping by and having a drink! All the teachers who have emailed me have all said the same thing, the class of 77 was one of their favorite classes. We are still short of our target attendance, but we are slowly climbing, I get an rsvp almost everyday. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I noticed on feedback, people are talking about the Imperial theatre. I remember the furniture store directly across the street. Was it Lloyds? I just remember it was a two storied building, that may have had a bank on the first floor? Crocker Bank?
