Message: John-another milestone for you. Birthday I mean. It was great to speak with you briefly and a few of the other guys like Rich Sloan at the end of cruise night. I didn't get to tell you how much I have appreciated your commitment and dedication to this site John. I received an email from a friend who went to Lennox and lives in Dallas Texas and spent a considerable time digging through Cougartown about stories involving "egg throwing" back in the late 50's and early 60's. He loved the site and forwarded it to a ton of his friends across the country. Thanks again John. Is it time for a new shirt design? I know the guy who did the first one.
Hey Alan, Thanks for the BD wishes and for showing up at the last Cruise. For all who don't know, Alan is the designer of our Cougartown Tshirts and a very talented artist back in his HHS days, painting sayings on the side of all our cars, among other things. Thanks Alan for our Ctown Tshirts and if and when a new design is forthcoming, you'll be the first one contacted.

Message: I was in Palm Springs for a couple of days and enjoyed the Short Films Festival and was a little surprised, when I logged onto CT this morning to read that a fellow Cougar was there the same weekend. Like Adrianne said, it was hot, hot, hot. We could have had a Cougar Sighting, if 1. Adrianne and I actually saw each other and 2. If we actually knew each other.) It was great getting back to the South Bay....Lawndale...my hood, "The HEART of the South Bay." hey,....it's on the signs;) I'm happy to be next to the 'City of Good Neighbors.'ss

Message: Happy Birthday, John! Thanks for keeping the site going and including all classes. I bet when you started the site, you had no idea what a big impact it would have on the lives of many from HHS and the South Bay. It is great seeing you at the VFW breakfasts and other Ctown events.
Hi Don, thank YOU for being at the functions too, and no, I had no idea Ctown would grow bigger than Mike Shay's waistline. but it surely has. In the beginning it was the Early 60s Hawthorne Homepage, but that was history in the first year. I'm truly glad it has evolved to what it is and hopefully will continue to grow as more and more Cougs find the site. Thanks again Don....

Message: Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to the glue that holds this website together. Alex and I just returned this afternoon from Palm Springs, where we spent the weekend for his birthday, yesterday. 114 degrees of killer heat, but it was dry. Fun, nevertheless. So, you have fun, but don't pass out from blowing out the candles. We need you! Here's wishing you a wonderful year ahead.
Hi Adrianne, Thank you and Happy Birthday to Alex too. I think at 114 it's gotta be dry.

Message: Hey, have a great b/d old timer ~ you're just getting into the fun part and it just gets better. The closer you get to 70 the more you can get away with things and folks just dismiss and write it off because of age. So, go out, get crazy with the ladies and have a great time. They're too old to hit you and if they do it won't hurt anymore so long live those neat ladies from the Thorne. Also, long live the memory of out 50's kind of cars/music/friends.
MAAANN!! You are funny today.

Message: Happy birthday John. I loved your analogy of getting older. I?ve been in a wheelchair since 2003, so if you're still swinging a sledge hammer you?re in tip top shape. I?ll be your age in February and I?d like to know if I can borrow that bottle of ?Jack and the Glock?.
Funny Pat, and hey, as long as you're on the green side of the grass it's a good day. Thanks for the wishes.

Message: Happy Birthday Johnny B. (as in Good) Now you have to raise both middle fingers and add them to 60. We just wanted to tell you how blessed we feel to have you in our lives. You are one of our dearest and best friends, even when you call the house at 5 a.m. ( ok, 5:15 a.m.) We wouldn't trade you for anything. You bring so much fun into our lives and everyone you have touched through Cougartown. Hope we stay joined at the hip for many more years to come. (hopefully we won't have to have any hip replacements any time soon.) WE LOVE YOU MAN Bob and Karen
Hey Bob and Karen, You know I feel just the same way. You two are saints, even if you ARE N.D. fans.
I LOVE YOU GUYS TOO MAAANN!! How about "joined at the spine"...they don't replace those, do they?

Message: Well John, I guess just the fact that we both have made it this far is reason enough to wish you a happy birthday! I'm talking about the times when I thought we were going to die together (making it from the "Gas Co." to that little watering hole in Buena Park in less than 15 min. in your old Camaro,...in an "altered state"!? And I don't mean Nevada...'tho there was that time..oh well, never mind). And then there were the times when I thought we would kill each other!! I mean you can be so eloquent sometimes when you are expressing your dismay at...anyway, you know what I mean.(Or maybe I just misunderstood). Anyway, take heart, there are a bunch of us right behind you. I've been hearing lately that 60 is the new 40!? (That makes us 42, right?) I don't know who said that but I love them very much. So have a good birthday and for God's sake, calm down. We'll all live longer. Happy B'day. Tom
WHATTTYAMEAN CALM DOWN!!!!! Hey Tom, if we're only 42, then let's go back to Carpinteria or Kernville, or let's go back to that little bar down South when we were on that License Plate Frame sales trip back in '77. What was it called, "Los Pantalones"?? Hey buddy, you got me feeling better already. Thanks Tom and you KNOW you're only 63 days behind me.

Now see, that could have been my fault. When they add just one name, I tend to guess. Sorry, it's not the "Myk"....I guess it's the "Bick"
