Message: My condolences to the family of Del Fox, and especially Myrtle, Jim and Charlie. He was indeed a gentleman and a scholar, a Hawthorne treasure! I know he is in heaven as we speak. Happy Birthday Marsha Hood. Greasby, if I remember, the little guys you referred to supra, beat your Boys two years in a row. But its ok, we can't score on my grandmother. Baker I talked to Pumpsie Green this afternoon, he asked how you were doing. HE also said that ye who is last shall be first. Hope all is well with everyone! God Bless!
For y'alls information, Pumpsie Green is half the answer to the trivia question, "If the Brooklyn Dodgers signed the first black player, Jackie Robinson, who was the last team to sign a black player, and what was the players name?" I called Jim with this question this morning and it came out of his mouth as fast as if I'd asked him what day it was. Jim, you ARE the guru of sports.

Yep, Wayne plays a mean "Lady Of Spain" on that thing. Now if he could just learn "Smoke On The Water".

Message: Did I hear somebody say they were going to see Neil Young? Well now if you're lucky maybe Bob Dylan will sit in for a couple numbers (oops...bad choice of words). Does anybody remember a song that came out on the very last day of school in 1958? It started out "SUMMERTIME SUMMERTIME SUM SUM SUMMERTIME"?? I remember walking home carrying my portable radio which was about as big as a lap top and had a huge dry cell battery in it. Must have weighed 15 pounds. Gotta love the transistor.
M.S.

"SUMMERTIME": Big HIT by the Jamies!!!
Yep I had one of those tube type portables too. It had something like a 67 volt battery and was long and flat. Remember when you had to wait 20 to 30 seconds for those things to warm up? Great memory, Mikey.....
BTW, does anyone else constantly receive these "add 2+ inches to your penis" emails? How do they know?

Hey John, did Parnelli want you to drive for his new AARP-Depends IRL entry at Fontana this weekend?..way kewl :o)

Happy Birthday Marsha Russell Hoody. Have a great day.
It was kinda like a Cougar siting. I was watching Speed TV and the question was asked, " Who said If you're under control, you aren't going fast enough. Mario or Parnelli". Now I know Rich Sloan knows Parnelli so I call Rich on his cell phone, to have him ask Parnelli the question the next time he sees him, and he hands the phone TO PARNELLI. So I asked him.....
My all time favorite racer behind AJ.....BTW, he said it.

HAVING TWINS MYSELF, I GLANCED TOWARD THE FELLOW AND COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES! IT WAS COACH SEMEN! I CALLED OUT, "COACH," AND HE SAYS , "YEAH." I INTRODUCED MYSELF AND THE GUY REMEMBERED ME! COURSE, I'VE CHANGED A TON SINCE THEN, BUT HE LOOKED GREAT. MET HIS WIFE DAWNA, AND HAD A GREAT LITTLE TALK.
HEY, LARRY BILLER. YOU AND I HAD MANY "SURF" BANDS WHEN I WAS STILL PLAYING THE DRUMS. THEN, WE FORMED ABOUT TWENTY MORE GROUPS WHEN I BECAME LEAD VOCALS. ALSO, I HAD MY OWN BAND FOR 18 YEARS HERE AT WORK. SO, YEAH, A LOT OF US STILL KEEP IT REAL. NOW, I GET MY KICKS DOIN' THE OLD KARAOKE !!!!

Message: Okay, I'm throwing in 2 more cents. Most fun song to me, can't keep my feet still is Wooly Booly. I realize there is no significant msg (other than Maddie told Haddie), but that is a great song. Best slow song is Since I Fell For You by Lenny Welch. Larry Biller - did you know my brother, Alan Lee, class of 66? Your name sounds familiar. My son started taking guitar lessons two years ago and had his first recital playing Hotel California. He got rave reviews. Had a garage band for awhile and is real serious about the guitar. Has somewhat kept him out of trouble at 16, he's a real handful. I don't know where he gets that from ...

Message: In response to Bob Jensen's question about the black and red house on 135th. I went to Ramona and lived across the street from that house for 18 years. The "old" couple that lived there were named Marge & Jack (can't remember their last name). Marge had been a Ziegfeld Follies dancer in her younger days and whenever her and Jack left the house she would be all dolled up with pink hair, perfectly applied stage makeup, and a fur stole around her neck. I was in their house many times during my youth and although Marge believed the bird that sat on her windowsill every morning was her dead sister, I can't say the house was haunted. It wasn't much fun at Halloween either because they usually just handed out marshmallows!
