Message: You are so right Cindy. I remember Solomon's well. When I had my Herald Express afternoon paper route about 1949-50 my papers were delivered in front of the store where I had to fold them for home delivery. I was trying to remember the names of John and his wife and she was so distrusting that she would follow all young kids around the store to make sure they didn't steal anything. She would wear the most outrageous eyeglasses with the pointed edges and cord around her neck. What great fun to fake stealing stuff just to hear her holler. I used to get my kite supplies either there or at the Felton market. Kind of liked the market because they had a pinball machine. Of course the 10 cent kites and penny gum machines are gone but the memories........

Message: Dan, you're right! We're all still recouping from that wonderful weekend. I came home Sunday and took an hour nap (I never nap!) and then to bed at 9:00. What a weekend it was. I am so glad we had the Friday night party. Everyone looked so good and we all have so many memories. I have many pictures to give to John to put up on Cougartown! It was truly my pleasure working on the Reunion Committee. We had such a good time and I really want to thank the spouses of the group, they were the best. It seems as though they are from our class! Thank you to the 62ers who were not on the Reunion Committee who came to help decorate. It was amazing how we all arrived there and everyone just started working, either decorating the tables, hanging crepe paper, balloons or placing pots of flowers. In no time the Sun & Sail was looking like a real Cougartown! Thank you to George Rea who kept us in tow and led us down the path to have a great Reunion! Love the idea of Class of 62 at 62. Doesn’t matter what we do or where we go, we’ll have fun! To those of you 62ers that didn’t make this Reunion, please plan to come to the Class of 62 at 62. We want to see you! .......Linda
Thanks Lina, Yes we ALWAYS have a fun time with our class. It seems we're all related and it's like a giant family reunion. See you all very soon at the 62/62 reunion.

Message: Hello Jeanne Burk! I do believe the Variety Store across the street from Wrigley's was Solomon's. The owners were friends of our parents and of course their names were Mr. and Mrs. Solomon. They probably had first names but we would have never addressed them so informally. The bakery took over their space sometime in the late 50's. I remember going in on my birthday and Mrs. Solomon asked me what I wanted for my birthday. Dad would look at me cross-eyed if I even looked at something more than a dollar. Someone please correct me if I have the name of the store wrong!
Hey Bob, Thanks and welcome back....

Dodgers and Angels are still hanging on, perhaps we will have a Freeway Series? Wouldn't THAT be fun! I promise John, I will NOT bring my famous pasta..maybe that will change some people's minds..HA! Wade, Wade, Wade~ Congrats on your 16 1/2 Yrs. You should be proud. Many more candles on that cake in the years to come! Hey, did you check out Paco's Pic's last week? VERY Nice Uniform. :-)
Ciao, The Sicilian Bambina...
Thanks Enza, and don't worry about the Dodger game. Like you say, maybe we'll have a freeway series instead.....YEAH RIGHT!!

Message: I'm real happy for all the class of 62 that got together. Sounds like it was a great time. I do have to say one thing I believe is true. Just because we put on a few pounds and sag in places we only get better with age. For one thing we are much wiser and can say we have been there and done that. So why don't our kids listen to us?? Maybe the same reason we didn't listen to ours. Now they will get back what ever they gave us with their kids. HA!! Thanks JB for all you do to keep us all together on CT. I really don't know what would happen if this ever ended. Don't even want to think about that one. LOVE YOU!!!!!!
The kids who're now peering at us with funny faces will have the exact same peer to look forward to in another generation. GOD, the system does work!!! Thanks Linda.....

Message: To Debbie, The man who owned Wrigley's market was a man called Ray I can't remember the last name. The manager was Johnny Johnson in the 50's. I worked there for 3 years during high school along with Harley Laird 59, Bob Little 57, Ed Little 59. It was a fun place back then and a great job. The stores went belly up in about 59 due to the big super store Ray built in the beach area.

Message: Thank you to all the class of 1962 for making this the best class reunion ever. And to all of you class of 1962 that didn't make it, please make the next one in four years. You were missed. Class of 62 at age 62, has a nice ring to it, don't you think? This was the first three day party I have ever gone to. Something about the small group on Friday night, to set the tone for the big Saturday reunion, then the cool down breakfast Sunday to finish things off. I think most of us didn't want it to end. I sure slept good Sunday night. Can you believe the toughness of Coach Chauncey, when he said he would be there, he would be there. A traffic collision totalled his car. He still finds a way to attend the reunion. No wonder he had great football teams. He is a Man of His word. His wife Cathy is a trooper also. I think most wives would have said, "Just take me home" Thanks Cathy for coming.
Always a Cougar, Dan Dye
I agree, the Coach stands alone. Thanks again to all who showed for this one. It was the best.

John ... you have definitely outdone yourself with the pictures for the 62 folks - 40-year reunion. JOB WELL DONE!!! And great pictures as well. What is it everybody says about you? YOU DA MAN!
Thanks Doris, but I tend to be a little more critical. Of course most of the ones I put up today are from the Friday night party and there weren't as many there, so it looks like I'm taking them of the same people. I hope to find some people on the "other side of the room" tomorrow.

Fitting tribute. Bitchin song, bitchin people. Even Paul Penn the dog. Been wondering what happened to him since the big ten year reunion. Harry Plotkin thanks for the e-mails they are just hilarious and were sure looking forward to seeing you two in a month or so. And Doris D. Jude and I "blew" through Twin Falls on the way to the mega metropolis of Jackpot NV on a flyer two weekends ago. Most of you folks don't get the little joke about "blew through", but as Doris knows the only time the wind doesn't blow in Twin Falls is when it stops to change directions. Jim Sloey I really hope that we might finally be able to say hello when we come down this time. Say hello to the other half of the "sen to sen" combo for me. 38 days and countin. The last one you put up struck me as real funny, not the picture, just the concept. The thought hit me that someone from your class is looking at these pictures trying to figure out who is who then you throw up the last one, and this poor old guy has no clue who these ladies are after 40 years. So the pictures are great but who is who? And where is the Coach and Cathy and #109 and his wife?
There'll be pics with names. I'm putting these up to keep the wolves off my back. Patience Jimmy boy, patience.

Message: The '62 reunion this weekend was not just great..it was the BEST! Three days of non-stop fun, love and laughs with the very folks we grew up with, and launched out into the world in 1962 with. And, the chance to spend some time with some of the best teachers, coaches, and certainly principal, that we could have had in our lives. Thank you all! I don't think anyone wanted it to end on Sunday afternoon. But...the good news is we are not waiting 10 years to do the next one. In fact, I think we're going to start thinking about the 62/62 reunion at our next meeting...right George, Linda, Cheryl, Paul, John, Karen, Dan...right?...I said right? Remember, 62ers, keep us posted on your travels and whereabouts over the next two or three years so we can find you easily in 2006! You're the BEST!

Message: Many, many Thank Yous to the class of 62 reunion committee, you did a great job putting this all together! This was my first reunion and I loved seeing and catching up with long lost friends after 40 years. The name tags were a life saving touch, like we all haven't changed since 62 (in my opinion). I am so looking forward to 62 at 62, I love that idea!! See you all again in about 4 years. Until then every one take care and God Bless.
Hi Treva, Glad you finally made a reunion and now are HOOKED. Yes, for all you 62ers who weren't there Saturday night. We are going to plan a class reunion for the class of 62, when we all TURN 62 (any excuse for another party). We're thinking maybe a 3 day cruise or a weekend on Catalina, or ?? If you have any ideas, please pass them along. We're lucky to have one of those classes that stay together and we want to keep it that way. I'm going to add a page for our class (and other classes too) that will allow you to change your mailing addresses. Right now you can do it on the membership page. Just type in your new info so we can contact you when we have another class event. Thanks Treva, and we'll see you all in 4 years.
