Message: You are so right Cindy. I remember Solomon's well. When I had my Herald Express afternoon paper route about 1949-50 my papers were delivered in front of the store where I had to fold them for home delivery. I was trying to remember the names of John and his wife and she was so distrusting that she would follow all young kids around the store to make sure they didn't steal anything. She would wear the most outrageous eyeglasses with the pointed edges and cord around her neck. What great fun to fake stealing stuff just to hear her holler. I used to get my kite supplies either there or at the Felton market. Kind of liked the market because they had a pinball machine. Of course the 10 cent kites and penny gum machines are gone but the memories........

Message: Dan, you're right! We're all still recouping from that wonderful weekend. I came home Sunday and took an hour nap (I never nap!) and then to bed at 9:00. What a weekend it was. I am so
glad we had the Friday night party. Everyone looked so good and we all have so many memories. I have many pictures to give to John to put up on Cougartown! It was truly my pleasure working on the Reunion Committee. We had such a good time and I really want to thank the spouses of the group, they were the best. It seems as though they are from our class!
Thank you to the 62ers who were not on the Reunion Committee who came to help decorate. It was amazing how we all arrived there and everyone just started working, either decorating the
tables, hanging crepe paper, balloons or placing pots of flowers. In no time the Sun & Sail was looking like a real Cougartown! Thank you to George Rea who kept us in tow and led us down
the path to have a great Reunion! Love the idea of Class of 62 at 62. Doesn’t matter what we do or where we go, we’ll have fun! To those of you 62ers that didn’t make this Reunion, please
plan to come to the Class of 62 at 62. We want to see you! .......Linda
Thanks Lina, Yes we ALWAYS have a fun time with our class. It seems we're all related and it's like a giant family reunion. See you all very soon at the 62/62 reunion.

Message: Hello Jeanne Burk! I do believe the Variety Store across the street from Wrigley's was Solomon's.
The owners were friends of our parents and of course their names were Mr. and Mrs. Solomon.
They probably had first names but we would have never addressed them so informally.
The bakery took over their space sometime in the late 50's.
I remember going in on my birthday and Mrs. Solomon asked me what I wanted for my birthday. Dad would look at me cross-eyed if I even looked at something more than a dollar. Someone please correct me if I have the name of the store wrong!
Hey Bob, Thanks and welcome back....

Wade, Wade, Wade~ Congrats on your 16 1/2 Yrs. You should be proud. Many more candles on that cake in the years to come! Hey, did you check out Paco's Pic's last week? VERY Nice Uniform. :-)

Just because we put on a few pounds and sag in places we only get better with age. For one thing we are much wiser and can say we have been there and done that. So why don't our kids listen to us?? Maybe the same reason we didn't listen to ours. Now they will get back what ever they gave us with their kids. HA!!
Thanks JB for all you do to keep us all together on CT. I really don't know what would happen if this ever ended. Don't even want to think about that one. LOVE YOU!!!!!!
The kids who're now peering at us with funny faces will have the exact same peer to look forward to in another generation. GOD, the system does work!!! Thanks Linda.....

The stores went belly up in about 59 due to the big super store Ray built in the beach area.

Class of 62 at age 62, has a nice ring to it, don't you think? This was the first three day party I have ever gone to. Something about the small group on Friday night, to set the tone for the big Saturday reunion, then the cool down breakfast Sunday to finish things off. I think most of us didn't want it to end. I sure slept good Sunday night. Can you believe the toughness of Coach Chauncey, when he said he would be there, he would be there. A traffic collision totalled his car. He still finds a way to attend the reunion. No wonder he had great football teams. He is a Man of His word. His wife Cathy is a trooper also. I think most wives would have said, "Just take me home" Thanks Cathy for coming.
Always a Cougar, Dan Dye
I agree, the Coach stands alone. Thanks again to all who showed for this one. It was the best.
