There is nothing routine in Vietnam, just another day to cross off. On 3/1/67, Lance Corporal Donald Zoboblish was out on another search-and-destroy mission - no different than he had been doing for days. Attached to M Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment out of Chu Lai. They had been sweeping through rice paddies all day. At 4PM they cleared another area and trekked towards the next objective. As they started to cross over a RR track, one of the men tripped a hidden wire - detonating a booby-trap - with a deadly explosion. L/Cpl Zoboblish was killed immediately and two other Marines were wounded. Medevac helicopters were called and the patrol continued on. Less than an hour later they would trip another booby-trap - with two more men wounded.
