The Hawthorne Grille or Hollys, as it was initially known, was a fun place to hang out. It had the mid 50's architecture of Chips, The Ships Restaurant, Wich Stand, etc. The death of a building hurts almost as much as the death of a loved one, to those who were around it for 40 plus years. Again, the City of Hawthorne just looks on as another Hawthorne Landmark goes by way of the Bulldozer. In span of years, The Plaza Theatre and Hollys were around for about the same length of time.
