Foster Freeze was a good place to hang out on the weekend or any night you didn't have homework. Fosters became more popular later, after Frosties and A&W died. In my opinion, it had and still does have the best burgers of all the Hawthorne Hangouts. It was just another pitstop, as far as the racers and cruisers were concerned. Fosters is still going strong on Hawthorne Bl. just north of 120th St.
